Never thought I'd hear the term "bullet proof" to describe a pick

Do you play metal with a pick?

From 1.5 to 0.88 is a huge drop! It seems to be the thing to do now. Even the djent bois are dropping pick gauge.

the ultex material is really stiff, and Flow used ultex material. I used to play with Jazz III ultex and then move to Flow .88 mm. Flow feels better for me, it glides through the strings really easy.

Well Dave Mustaine has been playing a .73 mm Tortex on a .052 low E in standard tuning on a 25.5 scale since the early 80’s

It's not a thing ,,to do now ''. Play with different pick gauges and see what feels the best for YOU, not for other people ;) I tried different picks over many many years and the Ultex Material is still the best for me, nowadays I use Flow Picks with gauges from 1.5-2.0mm.

I've been using a soldering iron to burn in tiny holes for grip on my jazz iii picks and it has worked perfectly for years.

I went to 0.73 Flow & Primetone Jazz III XL ever since I saw Paul Gilbert was shredding with a 0.6 tortex

The yellow Ultex 1.38 are my go to for the last few years. Nothing beats em.

I've been using the jazz III Max Grip with carbon fiber and I can say that they barely flex and it glides nicely across the strings

He really know what he wants, so mick use flow 1.0 apparently? so i think its that blue colour pick, flow pick really help with picking cause it gives that snappy attack

Which material is he using with the Dunlop flow? He doesn’t say but at least in the quick shot it doesn’t look like either the normal Ultex material or the tortex material.

Carbon fiber is just refering to the color? Or it has carbon in it?

Yeah there's a version of Jazz III max grip made entirely from carbon fiber

I strongly dislike picks that bend. 1.14 is just right. Mick is such a nerd, he knows what year they planted the trees that produced the wood to make all his guitars. Lol.
@NKN82
@NKN82 Жыл бұрын
Depends on string cages and guitar tuning. 1.14 great for thick strings. For 9s or 10s 0,73-0.88 is enough.

I almost like the Flow Picks. But for small hands it's too small. I love the thickness and other parts but if you have stubby fingers you need a longer pick so you don't have to move your hand as much to reach more strings. PLEASE make Flow picks that are larger so there's more to grab onto.

Flow Jumbo or Dunlop 208 is what you’re looking for. Both however are at least 2mm thick
