It would have been in the winter of 1971. I'd have been sitting at the kitchen table, because the kitchen got the morning sun, listening to the transistor radio (we used to call them Trannies, but we can't do that these days, for some reason) on a Saturday morning. It had to be a Saturday morning because that was the only time I had access to the radio - Saturday at midday it got switched over to horse racing, listening to the 4IP radio good guys and this record came on - and it was hypnotizing. It went on, seemingly forever (which sort of makes me doubt the veracity of this story, because morning radio didn't usually play songs that long, but equally they may have faded it at 3:00) and by the end I was jigging around the kitchen, clapping my hands and singing along (very easy to learn chorus!). And that. more or less, was the first time I heard "Hot Love" by T Rex - and they have been my favourite ever band since that day.

I remember the first time I head AC/DC. My older cousin had Kiss Alive & AC/DC If You Want Blood live albums and played them back to back. Sorry Gazz but I thought If You Want Blood smoked Kiss Alive. When a live show opens with Riff Raff it can't be beaten. No slight on Kiss Alive it's a great record, but Bon fronting AC/DC when they were firing on all cylinders just does it for me. Mickey is one of the most talented and humble people on the 'tube. Cheers...Ben

@@benrankins4446 I totally get your opinion on the whole AC/DC thing. If I had gotten into them that young things might have turned out different. I think both of those live albums are great. Mickey is a real gem and I wish him all the luck in the world with his music.

Hey Gary! Thank you so much for taking the time to enter my contest. You pronounced my name perfectly so all good there. Also, the high praise is far too kind. Really, means a lot to have the support and kindness you and others in the VC have given me. Love the Kiss-tory. Kiss was also my intro to rock music, coincidentally Destroyer was the album I spent much of my time listening to. I had it on CD. I stole it from my Dad's collection and would stare at the album art while I listened at my little tikes desk. Obsessing over the jumping, recreating the poses of each member in the mirror lol! I can smell the paper sleeve if I think hard enough about it. Cheers and you rock!!! As a side note: For anyone planning to enter this... First of all it is so appreciated, so thanks! But also, please comment on my original contest video letting me know that you did. For some reason KZbin notifications are buggy for me and I don't see when I am tagged in videos. I don't want to miss any entries!
