Those Hot Chocolate and CCS records are still magnificent to this day. One of the great record producers.

Mickie Most was a giant in the music industry. I'm honored to have worked with him. I'm sure Mickie would be so proud of his daughter Nathalie and her words in this TV clip. RIP Mickie Most.

Hi Ludo, this is Susan from Detroit. It's amazing to see your name here. I think of you and hope all is well. Robert my husband has been sick this past year so I haven't been active on Facebook. I watched this video and wondered if anyone would mention The Arrows in the comments. Cheers

What a lovely tribute. I was a young teenager and the only reason I watched new faces was to swoon over Mickie Most.

Brings back a lot of memories of the times I spent with Mickie,especially playing poker every Sunday with Chris,Errol, Jeanette etc. Great times. My memory of Nats was her sitting on my lap at Mickie and Chris’s villa in the South of France. Mickie for a few years was my closest friend and along with Errol we had some fantastic times. I even got him to do a signature song SINGING THE BLUES where he took about 10 of us from QPR into the studio to record it. As we sang it over and over he kept saying to the players one by one you drop out,cos they couldn’t sing ,until he was left with only me. He said Silk do this on your own I’ll make it sound like there are 10 of you,and he did. So funny but the boys loved it especially Tony Currie and Simon Stainrod who lived their dream of being a pop star for the day. If only we could turn the clock back. Mickie may you RIP my friend. Silky x

Amazing guy. The stark difference between him and Cowell- Mickey Most had an amazing ear for music. Cowell, I understand, is tone deaf.

Mickey Most was more than a musical genius, somehow he could see in to the future which made him way ahead of his time. He was the only person in Great Britain during 1964 who criticised the Beatles for not conquering the US appropiately as it could have been achieved much better. People thought he had lost the plot. his colleagues accused him of going to far, his big headed ego had exceeded all boundaries and was talking like a fool. Mickey got everyone together and informed them that he would say no more on the subject and he would prove what he said to be correct. His last words on the subject were ' Just to prove to you that I am right in what I say about Beatlemania not being managed as it should be, i am going to sit down and write the songs that will outsell the Beatles record sales across the US for 1965' I will launch anew band and i will outdo the Beatles. And guess what, he did.

He "did" what ?.....Don't get me wrong....Most had lots of successful bands conquering the U.S. Who cares anyway how "Beatle mania" should "be managed"........it was probably more of a hype thing, to get his name in the trade papers.......a bit of controversy never hurts(most of the time).....in fact, it's a well established way of working in the entertainment business....Bytheway......There was in the US an anti foreign music scam going on ( a practically U.S. world monopoly on entertainment)..... Cliff Richard ,the perfect teen matinee idol never managed (during that time) to launch a chalenge to Elvis , which he easily could've done , because apart from being the perfect idol , he made some great rock'n roll during the early 60's , which conquered the rest of the world.(Move It)...... They tried the same with The Beatles, during the first year of Beatle Mania, which ofcourse proved an impossibility ....The Beatles threw open the tightly locked U.S. music doors, without them , the rest of the "British Invasion" would've never got a look in.... So much for the defenders of "free trade"........ehmm ?.......

Quite surprising that Nats never mentioned her brother Calvin. Mickie and I were great friends for quite a few years and had some terrific times , especially the poker school on a Sunday night. Mickie his wife Chris , Errol Brown his wife Jeannette and sometimes Stephen Marks who owned French Connection or someone else in the card school. I was a footballer back then and we earnt small money so it was very tough playing against all these guys. But had some fantastic times also at Mickies villa in the South of France . Nats was only a few years old then. Great times

But he didn't have a clue how to manage or produce Jeff Beck's massive talent, setting the latter back terribly with 'Hi Ho Silver Lining' which Jeff always says hung around his neck for decades, "like a pink toilet seat."! All forgiven though with 'Truth', one of the best rock albums ever made.
@robertgillespie79466 жыл бұрын
So true. It's the heaviest sound from that time. I still love it.
@PAULLONDEN6 жыл бұрын
Well.....wish I had had such a "pink toiletseat" ....Most bands at the time did a bit of a "pop tune" ...Even though most of Jeff's fans prefer his rock orientated stuff.....the more pop orientated tracks like "Silver Lining" and "Tallyman" (which I bought) have a high "feelgood" factor....Jeff was allowed to do his stuff on the B sides... If there's one blotch on Most's career it's the terrible way how The Yardbirds fizzled out, with downright disgusting low quality pop pap....which in the end served Jimmy Page to go his own way...
