@krazykoolcakes7 жыл бұрын
Thank you! Yes, without the hat, gloves, and stars. We add those once the cake will no longer be put back in the fridge. Usually 1.5-2 hrs. prior to delivery. :)

I love your cakes! I'm new to your channel and I already learned so many new technics. I have a question. What do you spray on the cake at the end of the video? Thank you for all the links. I ordered everything to make my son this cake for his birthday :)
@krazykoolcakes7 жыл бұрын
Thank you Iyse! I'm so glad you're enjoying our tutorials. What you see us doing at the end of the video is steaming our cakes. It's a little machine that produces vapor. This cleans the cake up, gets rid of cornstarch and edible glue stains, and makes it nice and shiny. Once dry the cake is left with a nice "sheen". You can find the link to it in the "show more" section under the video if you'd like to purchase one of your own. Thanks for watching! :)

Can you provide me any information on what type of gum paste or fondant was used. Or do you have a recipe? Love you work
@krazykoolcakes7 жыл бұрын
HI Josey! Thank you! Yes of course! The red fondant is Wilton and the gum paste we make it by mixing white wilton fondant with tylose powder. We have a tutorial on how we make our gumpaste. Thank you for watching! :)
@Guyanesemocha4 жыл бұрын
What brand of gum paste did you use ? And is gum paste also fondant?
@krazykoolcakes4 жыл бұрын
Hi Cherry! Thanks for your question. We make our own gumpaste by mixing Wilton fondant with tylose powder. Please check out our tutorial called "How To Make Gumpaste" to see how we make it. Gumpaste is simply fondant with tylose powder mixed into it. Hope that helps and thanks for watching. :)

Love this video and want to make one for my 3-year cousins birthday this weekend--I have a question for you if I have to travel about two hours what would be the best way to do that without ruining the cake? Should there be some pieces that I wait to assemble until I'm there? Thank you so much!
@krazykoolcakes6 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much Alexa! If you expect a bumpy ride, I would probably add the Mickey gloves after I arrive. The stars on the board shouldn't move at all and neither should the Mickey hat if you royal ice it to the top of the cake. The gloves will be pretty easy to stick onto the cake once you arrive. I hope that helps and I'm sure your cake will come out awesome! Thanks for watching! :)

Looks amazing! Can you shear which brand of Fondant and Gumpaste do you use. Thank you a lot😊
@krazykoolcakes6 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much! Sure! You can actually see our tutorial on how we make gumpaste. We use Wilton fondant and mix it with tylose for our gumpaste. For this specific cake we used Satin Ice red. Glad you liked it and you're welcome! :)

Hello Laura & Arnie! It's always a delight to see your magnificent creations. I'm a fellow baker/cake artist who has been following your work for many years. I recently had a horrible review posted about my business on my Yelp page. I know that everyone is entitled to their own opinion and that we can't please everyone but it 's especially hurtful because I am a home-based baker with no employees but myself. Therefore, the criticism is that much harder to swallow. Anyways enough of my sob story. The main thing I'm struggling with is the fact that my customer said her cake was "crumbly" however, I too use a vanilla butter cake as my go-to recipe and my aim is to make a soft and tender crumb (reverse creaming method) so it kills me that she's criticizing the texture of my cake when that was my goal to begin. Am I wrong, should the cake be tough and dense? Also, for your fondant cakes do you recommend your customers to store the cake in the fridge or at room temperature (below 70 degrees F) until the time of the party. Your insight will definitely help as I really don't have a cake community to turn to for advice.

HI Gloria! WELCOME to the world of a Cake Artist! LOL! What has happened to you is no biggie and it happens to ALL of us. The SOLUTION is in not just "knowing" (as you've said) that you can't please everyone, but also ACCEPTING it. Then, the pity parties will cease and you can just "grow" and "move on" from this learning experience. Because that's all it is. You can't please every customer. PERIOD. Some people like and are used to "dry and dense" cakes. If all your other customers loved your cakes and they've TOLD you so, and this woman is the ONLY ONE that has ever complained, then don't worry about it. I would be concerned if more than just a few people complained. I do understand (been there) that criticism "can" be hurtful, but don't allow yourself to get hurt. When running your own business, one needs to toughen up and develop a thick skin. Learn to not take things so personally and understand that it really has nothing to do with YOU as a person. Everyone is different and there will ALWAYS be somebody that complains. ALWAYS. You just need to ignore it and move on. Why is your business up online to be available for YELP reviews? Is there a way you can take that down or get rid of that account so that people can't publicly criticize your work that way? That would be another simple solution. Especially if your business is from home, I don't see the necessity of being associated with YELP... We deliver our cakes no more than 15 min to 30 min prior to the start of the event so no need to ask the client to refrigerate. I hope all of this helps you Gloria! God bless you! :)

Hi Laura and Arnie! Please post more videos
@krazykoolcakes6 жыл бұрын
Hi Agatha! Thank you! We are desperately trying to! We had our hard drive that was FULL of raw footage of tons of tutorials we have already filmed and it completely broke down on me. Our hard drive is at a lab somewhere in Oklahoma and they are trying very hard to recover all of our lost data.... :( We are doing everything we can to get it back soon! Please pray that they're able to retrieve our data. If not, it will be TONS of tutorials down the drain. Thanks for still checking back with us! :)

Hi Fiore! Thanks for asking! Our hard drive full of all of our raw footage of many tutorials got RUINED! We had to send it away to a lab and they're trying to recover our lost data! We're praying we can get it back as it is literally months of work down the drain if we can't.... :(
