Mickey and Richard Harris are friends since the 80's, like Mickey, Richard was an outsider in movie business, he helped Mickey during his "darkness" days and always spread the word about Mickey talents and one of the best actors around. Mickey also lived by a short time in Richard Harris home in England when he was filiming "A Prayer for the Dying" (Mike Hodges, 1987).That's why Mickey dedicate his BAFTA to him,and btw yes is the same Richard Harris that played Dumbledore in HP movies.

Rourke didn't park cars .. he was just using it as analogy for his other roles recently.. acting for regular roles was just like parking cars for him.. his role in the Wrestler was just not another role.. it was something that actually challenged him for the first time in a couple of decades

At the end of the day, it is just a statue. I think he deserved to win best actor as well. But this year, he has won a golden globe, a BAFTA, the independent spirit award, and numerous other awards for " The Wrestler ". He probably did'nt get the oscar, because of his unpredictable acceptance speeches. But he's probably done better than Sean Penn this year, with golden globe, BAFTA etc... Both great method actors, who don't play safe. But Rourke has the edge, IMO.

Mickey truely deserved an Oscar, but Sean Penn deserved the Oscar more than any other actors. Yes, Mickey was "introducing" himself in the movie, but Sean was "losing" and "forgetting" himself in the movie. Sean gave us his best performance ever, if you really know Sean's personality. And that's what an actor all about, losing himslef in every role. Anyways they are both wonderful actors. I respect both of them!
