I simply love your videos, Mr.Gene. I am an old time bass tournament fisherman. I was a charter member of BASS, my number was #86....way back in 1968 and did that stuff for decades. One day I realized that I wasn't having fun anymore. Fishing had become a hassle of chasing the almighty $$$$....so I quit that stuff and went back to what I always enjoyed. Your kind of fishing. The past 20 years have been a total delight....I wouldn't give you 10 cents for every bass in the lake, but I will go wild over those slab crappies, bluegills, and shellcrackers. Keep on with the videos. I LOVE to see that float go under. Thank you. Pete Lowenstein.

How wonderful it must be to be wealthy enough to own one of those homes and boathouse on this beautiful lake. Just proves that the quality of life one can enjoy strictly revolves around how much wealth you have.

We call em Chinquapin down here in Louisiana. My favorite thing to fish for, but when you tell someone you like bream fishing the best, they don't think you can fish. That's bull. They can be hard to find sometimes. I have been trying to learn crappie, but its hard. I had to resort to youtube. I dont have a fish finder. Just a jonboat and a few cheap poles.

Gene, rememer the tiny jig on my Musky video? I caught all my big crappie on that small thing. On the big jigs I am getting far fewer bites and i get impatient. I think you are on the money, sir! As long as you JIG IT, small artificials produce everything.

Richard, could you share a description of the 2 jigs you used in this video. First, the squirrel tail jig. Was the squirrel tail natural or dyed? It was hard to tail because it was wet. Also, did it have any body material other than thread? And as far as the 2nd jig, was the body made of the same sparkly material as was used in the tail? It's called krystal flash. It looked like there was a strand or two wrapped around the hook shank to make the body. Also, what colors were in the tail of the 2nd jig. That was also hard to tell from the video plus I have serious problems identifying some colors. Thanks
