Micro Minnie FLX boondocking

First, sorry that I forgot to reset the video resolution. Second, I know some will say that having access to bathrooms and having a generator isn’t true boondocking but this is 2022 and this is boondocking for us. We have gone several days on the tanks so technically we have Boondocked on that side. But anyway, here’s what we found sans AC.
I will add that I wouldn’t travel without a small generator. If AC was a need there is no way you’d make it unless you like to sweat. If you can live without TV, AC, etc it will hold up quite well. Otherwise, power up during the day with the generator if necessary. Gotta love marketing slants.

Thanks for the update! We're taking out 2100bh FLX for the first time this weekend. Compared to out last trailer, this thing is so much nicer. We love it.

With only 31 gallons of water it’s hardly a Boondocking capable camper. Water, like battery life is your key to lasting longer off grid. Have read and viewed countless media pieces on this camper and I’m not very impressed. With all that being said I do appreciate your efforts into your reviews and honest feedback to us.

The limited water is why we carry a jerry can of fresh water if needed. Typically we have access to at least some shower facility so if we only use it for washing and cooking it’s held up pretty well.

Just back from dealer. Heat issues were shutting down my flex system. Contact with go power and Winnebago lead to the install of vents on the storage doors, the battery box and a fan on the battery box that draws heat out of the box.

Interesting. Can’t say I’m surprised given the size of the battery and knowing the heat generation that can come off some. It’ll be interesting to see if Winnebago mods all units or plays the waiting game. I’d love to see a pic of the door venting. I’m curious how they modded that without compromising weather sealing and security of the doors.

Wish I knew how to send you photos. My dealership said that they would probably modify the two other flex’s they have on the lot if my modifications work. I am trying to work through new trailer glitches so I can go on the road with confidence. Outside solar plug was factory word to battery #2! Toilet initially shot you in the leg! C

Don’t know why FB is having an issue with it. Just delete the app! 😉😂 Kidding aside we’ve had no issues but I have a few rules we follow, which may help. We follow the advice from the manufacturer and always hold the switch for a few seconds after running it out/in. We also don’t put really anything in the underseat storage with the slide in. Less bouncing weight on the unit while in transit. And I always check the rails every trip. I’m a maintenance fanatic.

I do not like it. It is not conducive to boondocking. The batteries are always down. The fridge is just electric and it takes all the power. I have always boondock camping in other campers and been workable. Winnebago will not address the fridge issue. It should be gas/electric. I use a solar power station for lights and minor power. The fridge is no good for camping. No heat with 30 degree nights or cold days. The fan uses so much power so heater cannot run. You cannot run a generator continuously. You can charge batteries on generator and the batteries will be down before morning because of fridge. Really a bad setup. Steps more than 7” high. More like 10+. Slider 11” step plus seats another 26” high. Bed 28” high. Need stools and handles to pull up. Campers not built for average campers. Built for 6’ +. Had camper picked up so did not know these things. Never thought height would have been adjusted to 6’ accommodate or the fridge would only be electric. Fine camper for hookup camping in community type camping. Not for regular camping. This is 2022bh2100.
