This is a follow up after chasing down answers with Winnebago (spoiler… they defer to Lithionics) and Lithionics, I have more legit info on winterization.

Thank you for the info. I purchased a 2022 FLX first of November (my very first TT!), and will be picking it up first week of December. I am in Southwestern Ohio where it definitely gets below freezing and your info surely saved me from ruining a very expensive battery as I store the trailer this winter! I will definitely be asking my dealer about this before I pick up the trailer - and getting very familiar with the Lithionics storage & maintenance procedure. Looking forward to more of your videos!

Hi - it’s us again .. just watched your video .. we’ve had several discussions with Lithionics also and are currently working with them because even though we’re way below the Mason Dixon line in South Florida .. there are restrictions for heat also. FYI - today’s high was 82 without humidity so we are struggling with the complete opposite of what you are too and it’s it not even summertime 😮

Thanks for posting. I got the same story from my dealership "it would be fine over the winter". I do wish I had known this sooner. I'm currently running the battery down to the SoC 50% voltage. That's not 50% on the state of the charge meter but rather the Battery voltage found on the details page. It should read 3.2 volts, according to Lithionics. I am guessing from the Badger that your in Wisconsin too.

Thanks for the videos and information! Have your tried the solar side port yet? I bought a 100w portable and have been doing quite a bit of testing. I am convinced that the side port is wired direct to the battery, NOT to the controller as everyone seems to think. This belief confuses me because the gopower mppt controller does NOT have a secondary input for another solar input. This means that if the side port does indeed go to the controller then it could only be wired in parallel with the roof panels. In that scenario, the side port input would need to be matched to the same approximate voltage of about 37 volts. Otherwise the controller seems to show a compromise of lower voltage which actually results in less charging. Thanks again for your contribution to the information pool. Jim

I have not found a solid answer on the solar port on the side. Most of what seems to be reliable info points to it NOT being a simple plug and play option. I’ve been leaning toward putting the more basic glue down panel on top to give it a little more solar. With that, it does just plug into the rooftop controller. But there’s really only space for one in my opinion because I want to be able to walk the roof and clean it without walking on any panel.

It’s obvious we need to get a generator for our boondocking exploits. My wife has to sleep with an oxygenator witch sucks up 350w. It all I want to do is charge the battery in the morning, can that be done and what size can I get by with?
