I really bought the exact same usb hub that you show on the video, but i cant put my thinkpad 8 to charge and use usb at the same time! The description of the product even says that the thinkpad 8 is suported. I can only use the otg function with an energy cable connected, and when i put on "charge mode", everything goes off and the tablet wont charge. Please, help!

1) That external charging circuit in your video was installed wrong. There were 2 sets of pads; one set goes to the tablet, as you installed, but you're supposed to disconnect the battery from the tablet and hook to "b+/-" pads on charging board. Also, never use hot glue, it will not be a good heatsink for the charging circuit heats up significantly when working. Plus, make sure the output of that charger is the same as the battery. Most li-poly outputs are 3.7v those chargers sometimes have a buck converter lowering the amperage and outputting 5v. Installing the wrong one will fry your motherboard. 2) those USB HUB multi-adapter dongles will not work/charge on any Android device. The charging port is to supply power to the accessories and data only runs at USB 1.0 spec. So if you plan to use an external sound card and charge the device at the same time, it is impossible on Android.

I tried a couple of those ready-made solutions with my Note 8 to no avail (I'm guessing perhaps due to USB C?), fortunately I found that the Sansung Dex (used as a dock without loading the software) allows charging and USB connectivity. It's not without its limits however, you only get slow charging and there were issues connecting to my digital-audio-converter - when plugged in it's initially recognised by both the phone and certain apps but Ihen cannot be found by those same apps when you begin to use them. The result being that audio is rooted out via USB as normal, rather than at a higher quality via app as is the case when there's proper communication with the DAC. I can only assume with it being limited to slow charging that the additional power drawn by such apps exceeds some limit programmed into the Dex.

sure you will end up frying the motherboard if you want to use a TV, USB Device, and charging at the same time use 3 in 1 hub type c to HDMI, USB 3.0, and Charging port and then connect the usb hub on the 3.0 port if your using micro USB then use a type c to micro USB adapter its better than frying your mtherboard

how do you do first method? id pin is grounded with resistor, is the ground and 5v wire of a usb male connected to the usb female and the micro usb? and then data wires are connected from micro usb to female usb?

The Y type OTG and charging cable is not for this purpose. It does not charge the Android device, it charges the mouse or keyboard or any peripheral device. The same with 4 connections cable. This video is strange. I tried both cablea nothing works on Sony Xperia.

Two thing happen either 1. Any power cable is broken. then it is easy to fix. Open the case using pray tools and test the connection using a multi meter and fix it. probably this is the case. 2. There might be a hardware problem. the hub controller IC might broken.

How are you man. Some Windows tablet works without register (little register/ resistance of the wire is enough ). Some tablet need register 1k - 100k depends so use a variable resistance . +Tanveer Ahmed just restart the tablet fix the problem. Still I have the problem it show charging but battery discharge and stop discharging at 7%. But Tablet never turn off and maintain 7% charge forever. Even after 3 4 days. But after restart it started changing. May be it is a problem with my tablet. Thanks. Have a good day.

I can confirm 100% conclusively that the 3 port "Micro USB OTG Charge Hub" shown in this video does NOT allow charging while using OTG. If anyone says it does, they are trying to cause sales of this device. I have tested it thoroughly with an HP Stream 8. And it does not say its charging in windows. And, big surprise! It doesn't charge! The battery level drops, it doesn't matter if you have anything plugged into the OTG hub or not. In fact, this hub will not charge any device, no matter what position you have its little selector switch in. I have still not found a way to use OTG and charge the HP Stream 8 or ANY OTHER OTG device yet. This includes Samsung phones and tablets. I am thinking something in this video is doctored to make it look like that charges while OTG is in use. Like using the discrete li-ion charger that he installed himself. Do NOT buy one of these hubs! Not unless all you want is a compact OTG hub. It may have actually damaged my tablet. Because now, its not charging anymore.... We will see.

How can you say anything "conclusively" when you only tested HP and Samsung devices? Another user said it only worked on his laptop PC. claustrophilia there is a possibility that not all of the 1 star reviews were simply because of a lack of checking compatibility. i have a hub that is the exact same as the one in the video. i am currently on my third lol. the switch broke on the first one, probably lasted about 4 or 5 days. that one was replaced free of charge. the second one lasted about one month before the the power lead had wiggled enough to come loose. I soldered it, and soon it was the micro usb lead that came loose. I soldered and then it worked for another few weeks, and then the switch messed up again. It is cheaply made, and you get what you pay for.
