Not that I've found. You can see from the video that they're searching for these posts and I'm guessing it's not that easy to find. I've looked for stuff like this and never had much luck so kudos to the team. The idea of an app where people make serious suggestions, then upvote based on who needs it would be fun. Sort of like a reverse product hunt.

1 and 3) Odoo does this and pricing is decent. Its a hard nut to do with the flexibility (fam runs a big apparel business) And odoo is already at the point where it can do that, the store as well already and all the business side of things 2) An MSP itself won't have that issue (I know ... I am one) It is mainly for these NOC services - basically it's a white-labelled MSP that offers additional support to other MSPs - there are not that many in comparison to MSPs If you could integrate with the systems specifically, then you could make something to make the MSP life better - which in-turn would help the NOC MSP 6) Airtime, notion or any of these simple db apps could do the job. You can do images (assets), and data simply. Would be a lot more affordable than the custom solution. If that is what he was asking

Odoo looks like a nice ERP. I was trying to get a feel for it and its popularity by searching job boards and didn’t find much. Version 18 looks really solid. As someone who has used it, do you think it’s good enough to build a local retail and ecommerce business on?

UI is messy AF - stuff is all over the place - I am just glad since v16 that it has got so much faster (understatement here, like, they really have done well with the speed of it) But at the same time... it works, and there is no other software that comes close to what it offers at the price it offers it at. So I sit in a stalemate. I will eventually write a custom frontend for it since I really don't like it lol (I dont want to have to write python code for UI stuff lol) For what it is, it works pretty well. My biggest gripe is the lack of documentation (more-so internal side) - since there are 3 ways to do anything in Odoo 1 - you are able to use Odoo studio or the build in tools to do what you need 2 - you get a addon/plugin built by someone else that does the task 3 - you integrate using it's API (enterprise/custom plan) With #2, upgrades are a problem since you have to wait for all the dev's to test and update the plugins before you can update. And #3 is a problem since there is sweet no documentation - it's basically an endpoint to access the db, yet there are validations and a whole bunch of stuff that has no documentation so you sit for days trying to work out why it won't accept a certain bit of data (that possibly worked in a prev version) but since it doesn't always tell you what the issue is, you end up head scratching < honestly, chatGPT has helped massively with this Now, for your question - I run a software development, MSP, ISP and telecoms company on it. Subscriptions don't really work the way ISPs work, so I have had to do some custom stuff to flow/gel. But the rest of the stuff (integration with systems, banking, telecoms, isp side) is all integrated with a middleware that talks to the odoo API - this way upgrades are a bit easier than having to deal with snakes (python is the programming language, I prefer .net and typescript) I have approx 2 addons installed, 1 to style invoices and the other to fully brand Odoo and remove it's branding from everywhere. (currently: I just did a server upgrade last night because they released a list of CVEs .... it took me 8h - so currently testing migrating to using containers over a server because its a PITA - so should be easier now). So, to come around to the answer to your question: yes, with ease. You can do stock management, POS, e-com for online sales - sales and leads for any sales people or what not. It'll handle the account, staff, timesheets, payslips and you could handle the procurement from your suppliers .... It'll take you a while to make it perfect, but off the bat, you can get going pretty quickly with all the things. For hosting, if you wanna start off simple - Odoo online would work - but you very much will have limitations. Odoo online doesn't allow you to install 3rd party plugins. Then you can go to Odoo.sh - which you then can. Unless you have server management skills, people or time - I recommend sticking to one of the 2 above. If you do have the ability - then you can also self host (like we do - we need to because regulations) < just remember, they force annual billing for self hosting.

it's exactly what all the youtubers do, it's what they've been told to do.. set up their funnels, use videos to draw people in, then send them to the real "business" since youtube doesn't really pay enough. it's hard to find nuggets of useful information in all the drudge. It would be really nice if people were more honest about it. I guess they expect you to understand. After all, nothing's free.
