You can use a calculated query field to determine when 6 months is up. You can then use this as a query criteria to generate a list of which people need training. I have tutorials for both of these on my Channel. Search for "Microsoft Access Calculated Query Fields" and "Microsoft Access Parameter Queries".

You need to filter or limit the data in your popup form. When creating your button with the command button wizard, select the option that says "open a form and find SPECIFIC data to display."

Jeremy, I don't understand your question. FORMS don't hold any data. Only TABLES store data. The forms just show you what data is in the tables. Forms are BOUND to tables... so your Order FORM is showing you the data in your Order TABLE.

If you have multiple committees and multiple members for each, it sounds like you need to set up a MANY-TO-MANY relationship. This video shows a ONE-to-many relationship. Search for this video: "599cd access many to many relationships"

Ah, you want to be able to issue partial invoices based on orders. OK. There are a lot of ways to do this. You could just select which items you want to invoice (check boxes, or even a multi-select listbox). Then add those items to an invoice details table OR even just make an invoice and put the invoice ID on the order subform which would indicate which invoice those items were on. The sky's the limit. Unfortunately, I can't think of an easy way to do this WITHOUT some programming.

Thank you! Does the subform wizard always need to be used? I have about 17 fields that need to be part of the many subform relationship. Have created a continuous form with the various fields wrapping around. They need to be filtered or chosed via a combo box at the top of the form.

Continuing from my previous post: When I started inputting the committee info for my 2nd member, i got this error: The changes you requested to the table were not successful because they would create duplicate values in the index, primary key, or relationship. How do I get around this? Is there any way to structure the tables and relationships to get away from creating duplicate entries?

Would it be possible to build this loaded with data from another form but then the form should update the source table. For example: I have an Order / OrderDetails form linked to Order and OrderDetails tables, then I press the invoice command button and Forms/ Subform Invoice/InvoiceDetails pops up with data that was in my Order/OrderDetails loaded. However Invoice / InvoiceDetails forms are linked to Invoice/InvoiceDetails tables.

Hi mate, I have a main for called ref and a subform called work, they are linked together so when i click next, the values in both form changes I will like to create a new individual in ref and will like some field to be pre populated (like Ref ID) and when i click work it should be populated as well? how can i write the links back to the tables. Please help

What if I want that subform to fill in with the data from another form. For example, I have CustomerProfileT and InboundCallT and their respective forms CustomerProfileF and InboundCallF. Currently I have a subform created within CustomerProfileF that relates through the field AccountName to InboundCallF. I want the data I input on InboundCallF to appear on the subform on CustomerProfileF. So as to allow me to access a customer profile and review previous contacts just for that customer

Sure. Make it look however you want. :) You don't have to lay it out in a table format like I did.

Ok then I need to explain it differently. How can I take selected data from my OrderDetail table so that it creates a record for new Invoice in the Invoice table and records of Invoice items in the InvoiceDetail table. The reason I want to proceed this way is that I want the user to be able to create multiple invoices for one Order.

Mr Rost, I wish to create a patient examination form, and use tabs to save all the data with one exam ID, however when I use subforms, each tab creates a different exam ID so the data is not linked, what is your advice?

No If I wanted to create a report, for one student and their courses how do I get the sub form to correctly only display courses for that one student. Each time I attempt this, it shows all courses for all students.

hi ,firstly thanks for your video. Can I make access to generate automated calculated value? employee needs to go through training (medical and competency) every 6 months and its business requirements so I need access to generate all the employee who needs to do the training 'next month'....how can I solve this issue? Can I generate this automated calculation in table field and query table as well??

gudday sir..i have a form and not all data would fit into my main form so i put a button that when i click a pop up form appear for additional data entry, the problem is that when i want to preview the data from page 5 the pop up form will not update and stays on page 1, what i want is when im in the page 5 of my main form and when i click on the button pop up form will appear but in page 5 also..thanks in advance...hoping for reply. Hi Richard, Tq for the informative video. When i add a second record in the subform it goes to the next page of the sub form. I.e. it creates (Record 2 of 2, 3 of 3) and so on.. How to enter all the records in a single subform page?

Good. But what if I want to deal with multiple tables with different relationships. For example. I have a table which has an Activity ID and a description to that activity. And then I have another table with a Plan ID and other fields with relevant data. Then I have a table that has that Plan ID and Activity ID. In this table, the Plan ID may be repeated but the Activity ID doesn't. This is because many activities will be related to that specific plan. Relationships are based on Plan ID where it is possible and Activity ID where it could. How do I create a form with a that has the Plan ID and relevant data, with a subform that lists all the activities via the Activity ID and the description for a specific Plan ID I search for? Is that even possible?

you are awesome. doing an uni assignment,,good fun...how would you design if you want to include both potential and current customer? I make one table named cutomertype than customertype_id (PK) with potential and current customer as my two attributes...can you suggest me any better design? also I am stuck how to include potential product which my company might buy in future..like an aircraft company has 10 aircraft but might buy two more aircraft. any suggestion would be appreciated..thanks..

This particular video was good for parent to child. But what about child to child to child? I have a main form with several sub forms. The only objects on the main form are buttons and sub forms. All the fields are in the subforms are bound to fields in sql server tables. 1 subform per sql server table. I'm trying to relate a subform A to another subform B that has a 1:many relationship and to another subform C that has a 1:1 relationship. Subform A shows data for 1 record. I would like Subform B to only show records that match the current record in subform A. Subform C should only show the data for the current record in subform A.

I thought you could make tables with more than 2 tables? I have multiple tables for a data form that I would like to combine. I believe you said in you first few videos that you should make multiple tables containing feilds that relate to that table. From there you can combine them all and make one big form. Am I completly off? haha

It's POSSIBLE to create a single form based on 2 tables, if you join them in a query, but I don't usually recommend that. If you want to show two related tables together at once, you're best off using a FORM with a SUBFORM and I teach how to do all of that in my Expert classes: 599cd.com/XUW7BK
