Whirlybirds, old TV show 1957, used to watch it as a kid. Bell 47G was the aircraft. I seemed to watch a lot of aviation shows, Sky King, Jet Jackson, Commander Cody ,etc., back then, and through the years. Flying is On my bucket list...LOL

I have been on the look out for this Helicopter, some fancy flying as I know that takes a lot of concentration & your narrating. Thanks Mike for all the work.

I've flown in one of these. They need to add WAY more shake. That Heli NEVER stops shaking LOL

i agree, this is my favourite flying machine. It's mechanical and it's all up to your input and she is unforgiving if you push her too much. Plus it's quite acrobatic, i've done some crazy manoeuvres with it. She is more capable then meets the eye. And the best part, for some reason i want to do a roundtrip with this machine, i guess i like the view (flying in VR) F.. it.. i'm gonna do it, i'm gonna start from my hometown and head east until i'm back home again, haha. Plus i wanna test hand tracking, it would be sweet.. just to lean over and switch those switches with my hand instead of a mouse or a controller.

In the Bell for every action there is an opposite equal reaction. 50 years as a teenage I was able to get 10 hours of dual in the 47 it rented for $65.00 and hour wet. 😁🛫

I also had dual instruction (perhaps some 20 hours) in the Bell 47, some 40 years ago. I was able to hover... when money ran out. A decade later, when I finally had the funds to fly again, helicopters were prohibitively expensive for me (about 3X as much as airplanes in my region) so I ended up flying fixed wing. From what I recall, the -47 had very sluggish controls. It was said that the Bell 47's controls did not to have a "response time", but "delivery date". I loved every minute of it.

This thing does not have trim IRL, but they added it because people asked for it! ;) Also, carbheat pilots tend to not use in this thing, they pull it down for a moment from time to time and then up agian, just briefly, using it for a longer period is deemed too dangerous apparently.

Can anyone help me, how do I bring up the menu so I can fly this in advance mode, for the life of me I can’t figure out what button it is mapped to?

Shame I can't try it even though I own it,I with a lot of others have fallen into the sim freeze re-install rabbit hole.Sim just stuck on the splash screen and in spite of trying everything to get it back,no dice.So now I have a new installation but it won't boot.It seems to be the shortcut may be pointing to the wrong folder and the target isn't editable,suck city.............

Fuel gauge is NOT INOP. Works fine. Bottom lower left gauge. Reading Half tanks in the video.

I upgraded my controls to the thrustmaster 1600 and for some reason can't disengage the parking brake. I have matched all the settings in the manual and even tried uninstalling and reinstalling but no joy. And no ctrl + num del doesn't work. I also mapped the throttle to TM slider 8 and it seems to have no effect on the cyclic either. If anyone has a solution I would sure appreciate it. Other than that I have flown this chopper with my previous hardware and it was a lot of fun but very frustrating at times also. Everyone should have this in their hangar.

Problem solved! Flyinside issued an update yesterday and after installing it all controls worked as expected. Time to go learn how to NOT crash again. Great sim. Anyone looking for a good challenge should consider getting this, it will certainly upgrade your coordination and flight skills.
