For a handheld for Xbox I feel the play will be the second part that made the 360 successful come out early and cheaper I think the real debate and I don’t know the right answer is do they throw in windows support if you have a cheaper priced system that can play everything on gamepass Xbox and PC ports allow emulators and files to be loaded with a barebones windows I think its a win that last part is a dream and would only need done to compete with valve

I enjoy this video "format." I'm FAR more excited about the pixel remasters than any of the "new" Final Fantasy games. Octopath Traveler & Wargroove are amazing. If Final Fantasy 15 was like that with the graphics it had, I would have bought a PS5. I'll just grab the pixel remasters and wait to see if Xbox comes out with a hand-held eventually. If they do, I'll get that through Xbox all access like I did my Series X.

I have been on Xbox since I could own my own, maybe Xbox one, then one I had a PS3 beforehand, and I recently got a PS5... Between the controller, games, and yes, I must say The Trophy showcase system being peak dopamine hit, and all the friends on Xbox, I think the PS5 is more fun. I have one friend who does not have a ps5 yet and they will get one soon, but idk if I can get them to entirely swap, even though the only real multiplayer game we play together is Siege and has cross-progression. The platinum trophy hunt hits differently on the PS5 than the Xbox Steam or Switch trophy system. IDK why

The reason Square Enix games like Final Fantasy have poor optimization, is because the developers are paid by Sony to prioritize the Playstation development and not care whatsoever about the PC or other consoles. Since Playstation is a bespoke Linux OS, optimizing for that platform comes at the expense of performance. No PC or console on earth is compatible with the bizarre and foreign operating system environment that Playstation forces on its devs. If developers targeted PC as a baseline and then optimized for consoles and their unique hardware afterwards, then performance would be better across the board. That would require a developer to stand up to Sony's blood money and do what's right for their product, so who knows if that will happen so long as Sony keeps dominating the console space.

The problem is because Square has made their big games for Sony platforms in the last 2 decades. The market shifted and Nintendo's Switch is were most of the market went to in terms of people spending time gaming and money flowing to. It didn't help square that FF Rebirth is only on one system. The game industry is also different today in terms of costs. a 50+ million userbase console should be high enough for a major franchise to make enough sales and turn a profit (at least before 5 or 10 years ago). Today, it's not enough because game development is just so expensive. AAA games costing hundreds of millions need to sell in multiple platforms and then still make enough through DLC/microtransactions in order to make any profit.

I had ps 2 then moved to Xbox 360 and wouldn’t look back it’s amazing Xbox yeh there’s been issues BUT Xbox is good I don’t know why people aren’t buying them maybe it’s most sales are in Japan ? I bought Final Fantasy 15 collectors edition when it first came out and it was on Xbox. I regret it now because my Xbox cracked out but I don't understand why they turned around and reverted when it came to Final Fantasy 16 in the first place. They were already disappointed with their sales after 3 months so I think they could have done better had they released it on both platforms.

Series S could run FF16 no problem, the real problem with optimization is money, if you're game didn't make the money you expected then board investors will probably never get on board with sinking more money into having teams optimize a game
