Does this work with Arduino MKR WIFI 1010 ?

The library would work with the MKR WiFi 1010, however we don't have samples for it so you would have to do the implementation for the SAMD21 and the Nina WiFi module.

will it work for gsm based boards, like mkr1400 from arduino?

The existing samples won't work out of the box with GSM-based board, as they normally offload TLS and Socket layers. That said, nothing prevents you from leveraging the sample code if you bring the external modem, it is just a little more work to get it running.
