Finally!! I've been waiting for someone to do a quality video debunking Dave Asprey. I followed him and the bulletproof diet for years. In fact, I was so involved that he actually quoted me in the first chapter in his first book. But after years my health was getting worst and was tired of wasting a small fortune on his zillion supplements and smart drug stimulants. Been vegan for going on almost 3 years and never felt better! My blood work is way better now, natural energy is back, and saving a ton of money on supplements!

When the doctor took my blood pressure, I waited for the usual response I'd received since high school of, "oh, blood pressure's a little high. Must be 'white coat syndrome'". The doc told me I was in a very healthy range. It blew my mind. When I got my blood labs back, it was the same. Super healthy range. I always had borderline to high cholesterol until I went vegan. I would possibly believe this crap if not for being vegan for almost 10 years. Everyone is looking for a miracle diet to make them feel amazing 100% of the time- but that doesn’t exist. We live in a world full of pollutants in so many aspects (water, soil, air) we stare at cell phones all day and don’t get nearly enough physical activity, jobs and financial stresses and everyone wants to blame veganism. Everyone around me is struggling with skin issues, painful periods, weight gain, losing hair. I don’t know why ppl would be content eating predominantly dead carcasses and their secretions. So happy I found this lifestyle 10 years ago. I can’t imagine my health had I not.

There are very few plant based meals offered at local restaurants, so it helps alot that I am now retired and now have the time to cook nearly all my own meals. What a funny coincidence that you should publish this piece on the day I had a blood test for my cholesterol. I had been on th keto diet for 18 months and my cardiologist gave me an emergency sit down on August 9 to tell me my cholesterol score put me in the 90th percentile of danger for a stroke or heart attack. I changed to vegetarian and then vegan within a week. Today's results just came in after three months as a vegan (and I love being vegan, not a strain at all). Overall cholesterol went from 294 to 149. HDL went from 75 to 55. LDL went from 205 to 83 and Trig went from 70-56. I had decided that after two days of taking a statin prescription that it was not for me. I started watching your videos and those of Simnett Nutrition and got the daily inspiration I needed and I FEEL (and look) FANTASTIC! You were a helpful cheerleader through your supply of facts derived from accredited studies. Very much appreciated.

Gah! That guy boils my blood. I have 3 kids, been vegan for 10 years, they’re all vegan. My third was 10lbs at birth! My doctor said I basically birthed a toddler. She also always said I was her easiest, healthiest patient with zero health issues or complications during pregnancy. My oldest is 4 and in pre-k, and intellectually blowing the other kids out of the water. He can already do algebra! Also, I’ll just note, my oldest has always been off the charts tall and super skinny and my 2nd born is more average in height and much heavier. Genetics really seem to play a bigger factor in your development! They eat the same, but have very different builds. Anyway, in case there’s a pregnant vegan mama out there freaking out ... it’s possible to be vegan and have great, healthy, SMART kids.

They told me to eat eggs or bacon for breakfast the day of my blood test and avoid carbs... I had waffles with maple syrup and came in under the acceptable range. Super low! I do think my diet helped with that!

Funny thing is, I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism at 18 months old. I lived with it my entire life. Three months ago I got my blood tested, as you do if you have hypothyroidism, and my doctor was shocked to see I was in the higher level of the thyroid range (I hadn’t taken my pills for months due to cost). So she took me off the pills and has been monitoring my levels each month. Still no pills, almost as if I have been cured of hypothyroidism at 26 by being vegan for a little over a year!

Dave Asprey led me to fall into "The Bulletproof Trap". I did lose 40 lbs. after starting that diet, and I am grateful that it got me to give up added sugar and processed foods. After about a year, I hit a plateau, gained 10 pounds back, and got kidney stones for the first time (I was 50). Since kicking Bulletproof/Keto in favor of veganism, I've lost 30 more pounds, had no re-occurrence of kidney stones, and simply feel consistently better. I also never noticed how fast Dave Asprey talks until watching this video. Consider mixing in some decaf, Dave.

It is. I see it every time I go out and it never ceases to make me a little angry. It's the parent's fault for staying ignorant and indolent, and the companies' and the government's fault for making it the norm in restaurants and grocery shelves.

I think what happens to some vegans, I was one of them. Is at first you eat alot of whole foods then you discover vegan junk and drift from plants. So at first you feel great and then you eventually feel the junk and get brain fog, joint pains or whatever. I asked hench herbivore about this and he told me to cut out oils, sugars and try to get closer to whole foods plant based, I did what he said and all my problems went away. The closer to whole foods plant based and farther away from vegan junk foods the better.

I am shocked how ridiculous some people people are with their false claims that they pull out their butts. I'm still not fully vegan, but I rarely eat meat or dairy anymore and when I do I have all kinds of misery. I only served meat and potatoes slathered in butter. Coroner: he found the vegetables somewhere. You did what you could, but you can do more. Make sure your kids don’t touch any green vegetables. We recommended force feeding of steak or meatloaf if necessary. Grieving wife: that makes sense. Thanks, Dr Asprey.

My 2 year old vegan since conception child contradicts everything Asprey says. We’ve been told he is a genius and he is very lean but not skinny at all. He’s heavy because of high bone mineral density. My wife and I would consume a big raw salad and then a whole head of kale every day years before conceiving and after conceiving until this day. Result? A super baby. Contradicts everything that lying sack of crap says

But this is part of the problem. You have two interviews with people - one a doctor who knows what he is talking about and one delusional person - and it is now presented like just another difference of opinion. I tried the vegan diet and I felt great for about two weeks and then I started having trouble sleeping, fatigue, and muscle loss despite still eating at least 0.5 grams per pound of body weight and not changing my workout routine. No noticeable change in the frequency of my angina (chest pains). On the other hand, the BP diet has given me more energy than any other diet I've ever tried, it completely eliminated my chest pains, and gave me an insanely low body fat percentage with steady gains in strength and muscle mass. Furthermore all my blood tests look better than they ever have before according to my doctor. I have higher good cholesterol, which is necessary for producing hormones like testosterone, and the lowest bad cholesterol my doctor has ever seen.

I had stiff knees for several years, making it hard to get up from chairs. After just two months on a vegan diet, one day I literally bounded out of my chair with no stiffness whatsoever, and never looked back.
