One year ago my coworker went Carnivore to help lose weight and ease back pain. He had every test possible performed on him to find the cause of back pain but doctors found nothing. After 9 months he was in shape and building muscle slowly with daily gym workouts. Bravo! Except for the stage 4 colon cancer that’s killing him. He didn’t have cancer last January.

I did keto and IF in the past and even though I lost weight, I was so miserable! I missed carbs so badly. I had to have cups of coffee in the afternoon and if I don’t fast, I would easily gain my weight back. Oh well, I eventually gained most of my weight back. September last year, I decided to be vegan AGAIN. Yes! I had several attempts in the past and I didn’t have the right tools to cope with social pressure. And I’m Filipino. It’s hard to find Filipino and Vegan in the same sentence lol! But after watching so many documentaries, news, interviews of plant based doctors, KZbin videos of vegan advocates like Earthling Ed, Melanie joy etc, I’ve made a commitment to never look back. And I definitely am not looking back. I’ve truly reached the point of no return. Vegan for my health, for my love of carbs, for the planet, and for the animals.

Vegan doesn't mean healthy lol they probably had a lot of processed foods and or smoked or didn't exercise.I follow long term vegans and they are healthy.As much I don't like some of his views on history but John Rose knows his shit about food and he's been raw Vegan for 30 years.And just yesterday I stated a 30 day juice fast so I can get the mucoid plaque out of my intestinal tract.If you don't know what that is I suggest you look it up because it's scary lol and is probably the cause of a lot of illnesses.

@@OZIPUG1970 Worried for you Jamie. ‘Mucoid Plaque’ is a known hoax and has absolutely no basis in medical science. @@asarcadyn2414 I think your wrong lol I've seen it from people who have no reason to lie about it and they aren't even vegan. Even that dip shit Bobby,s prospective got rid of it.And how can a water fast be better then green juice?I lost 30kgs in 3 months on a high carb diet along with 1 litre of green juice every day and I haven't been sick in 4 years.I don't need any medication at the age of 50 and I've never felt better so this juice fast will tell me if I'm doing the right thing or not but thanks for your concern. If I do eventually get the plaque out I will be sure to tell you and send photos if you wish lol. Now even if it wasn't true and it's not plaque but just solids still coming out while on a liquid diet, well that can't possibly be good having any rotten food in your body.So a juice flush can only help.

@Tony-un3vf
@Tony-un3vf 11 ай бұрын
Actually, according to scientists, what causes diabetes is not sugar, but saturated fats. Fats plug up the works and prevents insulin from doing its job. After a while of not being effective, the pancreas simply stops producing insulin. At that point, the person has to inject themselves with insulin. Sugar only indicates that something is wrong when consumed by a diabetic. It’s like flicking a cigarette from a car onto dry grass. You’re going to get a reaction because the circumstances are just right.

My parents taught me that too much of anything is bad for you and considering you never know what kind of chemicals can end up in your plate or maybe even a glass of wine, so I just vary and don't stick to specific brands hoping this way according to the principal of sensibilisation I never get intoxicated 🤣. I never counted calories and when I wanna loose a few pounds I just lower my bread, pasta and potato portions and opt for fruit with lower levels of fructose, go for long walks or ride bike instead of using a car.

I started keto back in 2014 and my health had never been better. I lost about 75 kiloes in two years (over half my weight), I had tons of energy every day, quit my allergy medisin and I needed much less sleep. Never felt better in my entire life. Considerably change in every way, from depression and anxiety to being so incredibly awake all the time. Concentration and so forth. I could go without food for 6 hours straight while hiking, garden working and my mood never changed. I felt absolutely great! In 2020 I desided to cut out meat for moral reasons. It's been a year since I quit eating meat. Ever since I quit eating meat I have never felt the same again. I feel sluggish, I'm most likely missing important nutricions that I got from eating meat and nothings the same as before. I miss the taste of eating meat, but at the same time I am hesitant to go back, even though I know my health and mood would improve.. I tried eating fruits last year but I find that eating to much carbs bring back my allergies and I gain weight. Keto is the best way for me, so I find I have to eat alot more of fatty nuts like macadamia and such, peanut butter, olive, avocado and so forth. I find it's more difficult on a vegetarian/vegan diet then it was on a meat keto diet. At least back the I knew what to eat and what to stay away from to stay healthy and strong. Edit: That being said; even though I'm struggling eating a no meat diet I'm still against the meat industry.

Intermittent fasting and a balanced diet, meat, veggies, fruit and dairy are what works for me. Basically go easy on the bread, desserts and pasta. It helps to find the foods that spike your blood sugar. It is different for each of us. We can argue this all day but we are all unique and find success with different methods. I love food. I've seen this video and one or both of those earlier videos you mentioned. I have several issues that I'd like to playfully consider about your analysis in that maybe these Keto folks never exercised, perhaps they ingested alcohol and/or smoked tobacco, or perhaps bad genetics and bad environmental development didn't help (nature versus nurture), maybe they had various medical conditions that would have killed them sooner rather than later, maybe because the science and medicine of the day did its best but wasn't nearly good enough to extend the life of these people, and maybe it was just bad luck. I am by no means making excuses for a bad diet or a lack of exercise or a host of other contributing factors that ended their lives sooner than could have been otherwise achieved through a vegan diet, but there are lots of people who are not vegetarians and live to be well into their 100s. George Burns who famously smoked cigars daily and Bob Hope are two of my favorite examples of this. Sure, I feel certain to say that consuming a healthy amount of broccoli per day is better than a cigarette or a glass of wine per day, but despite their apparent "bad nutrition advice," just being the Devil's advocate here to say that maybe there are more than a few contributing factors to why these "gurus" died younger than they could have.

I really enjoyed this, thank you! I have tried the more animal-based keto approach and ended up with deficiencies and injuries and I could FEEL it aging me. I could also see it, every time I looked in the mirror, with the bags that and lines that suddenly showed up under my eyes. That's why I'm trying a more plant-based Flexitarian approach, with 1-2 servings of eggs, meat, and cheese, per day. (for the purposes of vanity, of course ;p who cares how long I live, as long as I look good! j/k). The rest is low-carb veggies, fruits, nuts, seeds, soybeans, etc. BTW, two things that I've found really hard to get enough of on the low-carb diet are potassium and silica. Both are very important for cardiovascular health. I wonder if the lack of them has contributed to these unfortunate early deaths? And if you look at the people touting low-carb and keto diets, these days...most of them are super young! What do they know or care about longevity or even disease? I'm in my mid-40's and I already have a number of things that I'm trying to heal from (spinal injury, insulin resistance, etc.). So, I really get this. Anyway, thanks again!

I love that you threw in that I Love Lucy episode clip. I have been obsessed with re-watching those and that is one funny episode. I used to be a big keto fan - traded muscle for SUCH high fat! I am not even kidding. almost 30% body fat when I started at about 20%. I had NO ENERGY even after doing ALL the things they suggest, after 8 months my body never adjusted and I just felt fatty and tired. I have been almost vegan for over a year and have never felt better. I need to cut out the fish entirely - I started yesterday after watching Seaspiracy. Very moving. I cannot contribute to that anymore. Thank you for this.

A small note: in regard to "Benjamin Spock lived to 94, and advocated everyone over age 2 should be vegans". From Wikipedia, "Spock himself had switched to an all-plant diet in 1991 after a series of illnesses that left him weak and unable to walk unaided. After making the dietary change, he lost 50 pounds". So he became vegan at age 88, and lived 6 more years as a vegan? Of course, calorie restriction is the most established way to extend lifespan in most animals, and a plant based diet may well be the easiest way for most people to achieve that.

Listen to your body when eating. For me, that means mostly animal foods and less plant foods. And when I say animal foods, I mean the whole animal (organs, blood, muscle etc...). If people ate the whole animal, we could probably reduce the number of cattles by 30-50%. When talking about carnivores or low carb people that died "early", we know nothing about how much they exercised (remember sitting is killing us slowly), what social life did they have, and most importantly if they ACTUALLY ate what they were preaching. This video makes no sense. You can say the same of vegans or omnivores that died early or got mentally ill, or got some other sickness early. It's all about listening to your body.

There’s no such thing as an “essential carb”. We are all born in a state of ketosis and babies are in ketosis while breast feeding. Carbohydrates are not required for healthy growth and nutrition. Any glucose that the body needs will be produced by the liver through gluconeogenesis. As more metadata studies on living a nutritional ketogenic/fasting lifestyle are done .. the results are simply amazing and overwhelmingly show that living this lifestyle will not only provide you with the best opportunity for a longterm healthy life but the best opportunity for reversing/preventing almost all illnesses. Unfortunately.. more and more recent studies and autopsies done on individuals living a vegetarian lifestyle are showing many signs of nutritional deficiencies .. especially in studies/autopsies of the brain. Whether you agree with it or not doesn’t matter .. It’s biochemistry .. it’s how the body works. ✨

The cause of death of these people is very hard to find, but a brief review has revealed more than a few flaws in your blanket statements. Steffan Lindeberg for example, was not necessarily a meat based advocate. In fact, he studied, and promoted the Kitavan way of eating (about 70% carbohydrate). Just for the record, he died of pancreatic cancer. It would be very nice to see you do an updated version of this presentation using the real way people ate (that could be QUITE different than what they write about), and how they died.

I believe that you have to listen to your own body. People have different blood types and body constitution, metabolism, and lifestyle. I know that when I tried low carb I had very low energy, was light headed etc... plus I noticed that I suffer from migraines and I know that the brain needs a certain amount of glucose to function properly and when I deny myself carbs it’s not good.... but I do believe fats even cholesterol are good for your body hair brain and skin and important for our hormones... proteins are too and you can get that from both animal and plants. I do believe excess sugars are not good for people though!! When I reduced sugar significantly, my body transformed for the better!! Sugar contributes to inflammation and even issues like cellulite wrinkles and cancers... so I know sugar especially refined sugar and processed foods are terrible!! A balanced whole food diet is always the best diet for anyone!!

I love Keto! I'm keto/pescartarian and I've never felt better! I honestly think no matter what kind of diet or lifestyle you choose to do, it's SUGAR that should be eliminated from your diet. The Mediterranean diet is what I'm interested in.

@@ScrewNickkOn principle it probably isn't, but we have to think of it (like most things) in terms of amounts. The access to fruit in many cases now is just ridiculous in comparison to what many people have been used to, not to mention the fact that a lot of fruits are now way sweeter than ever through GMO. So i think a lot of people might consume too much of it.

I think you're on to something, the levels of sugars we have easy access to nowadays is crazy and there are so many hidden sugars in much of the food in grocerystores. I think sticking to foods that aren't ultra processed is also a good idea. Also what I think is a major challange nowadays for many, is to learn how to consume things in moderation, and I think we are underestimating it's importance. I guess there's a reason why glutony is listed as one of the seven deadly sins, fasting is also being more popularized as we speak, which I think is good.
