Great advice for check the tent first. I once went camping to Scotland with my wife and we had a brand new tent to try for Millets. We got to our 1st camp at 2 in the morning and it was only then we realised that we didn’t have any tent pegs. We ended up using screwdrivers and spanners

All my tents I put up in the garden for up to 5 days in rain and sunshine. It's amazing the things that can go wrong, I've had stitching come undone, leaks appear, hemming coming away . I must say here that I've never had a problem with returning the tents. Always happy to listen and to check their QC. Cheers from the Mountains of NZ 😀😀

Good tent, like to see how it fares in the winter time! Did my first solo in my hammock this weekend, defo need an under quilt and a top blanket. Ended up sleeping under the centre zip sleeping bag because it was difficult getting into. I was that person thanks for the tips and the encouragement. Stay safe atb 👍🦊

I'd mostly agree with your price bracket systemic methodological algorithm. I'd say up to 200 odd for a low end 2 man, though. I quite like how the guys attach to the poles, but then I'd like how the fly clips to the poles are stitched to be a bit more..... strong looking? Maybe a triangular piece of material (long side on the fly), or maybe more of the clips? Weight though, innit. 1.8kg ain't bad for a semi-freestanding tent that'll fit two 25" wide sleeping pads. I've a one man that weighs that with the footprint. As in most things, you get what you pay for: would I stick this at 600 metres above the treeline in January? No. But then, I think people who chose to do that are bonkers, I like picking my pitches with a bit of thought for sleep 😂

I really like my (3 season) Taiji. Light, easy to pitch and most importantly, pitches all in one. Aldi have hammocks in this week for £12 by the way!

Good tent that is. I probably would've bought one if I saw it before I bought the cloud up 2, which is great too. Good video mate atb 👍

Nice review. About measurements, you shouldn't trust the production info and always measure the tent yourself. Cheers! :)

Maybe a short length of velcro tape could be used to connect the three top poles where they intersect.

If water gets through a 6000hh foot print, it'll easily get through a 4000hh ground sheet. You can't really add them together. At the point the foot print leaks it's beyond failure point of the ground sheet. Granted, you'd have pitch it on a lake or sea shore below high tide point at 6000hh!

What is this fad for tent footprints, why not just have a decent tent floor in the first place.
@TimelordUK2 жыл бұрын
@@rtk3543 exactly!!!! I think tent manufacturers do it to keep the weight down so it seems more attractive to buyers. Thinner groundsheet, lighter tent, more sales, purchase the extra footprint, even more sales!

@chriscjjones81822 жыл бұрын
I was gonna say it looks like a brilliant tent but the lack of storage inside let's it down a lot. 1.8kg is lighter than I thought it was going to be though, but then it's aluminium poles not fiberglass. And did you say guide lines instead of guy lines or is it the accent?

it can be difficult to tell what level a tent is at because of gooutdoors arbitrary pricing policy. Just recently, I bought the OEX Jackal III for £70, although it was listed at £240rrp. Now, I doubt anybody has ever paid that much for it, but it is a very good tent and well worth the money I paid, but is is a mid range or an entry level tent based on the price alone? I also bought the OEX Phoxx 1 V2 from Tiso for £45, listed at £120rrp. Normally I wouldn't pay so little, £45 doesn't buy you £35 these days, but it's another very good tent. But is it an entry level 1PT or not?
@thetattooedangler2 жыл бұрын
@@OffGridwanderlust yeah, i agree with that, but the point I was making is that can a tent with an rrp of £200 that usually sells for £80 or less be classed as mid range, or is it a beginners/budget tent with an over inflated price tag?
@doggystyle19702 жыл бұрын
Slightly off topic but can you recommend a tarp for going between 2 small tents? Thanks mate.
@andrewfrank56022 жыл бұрын
For all the things that oex make the tarp is the outstanding product. Around 50 quid and it is bulletproof fabulous piece of kit almost 3 by 3. Do not be tempted to buy their hammock it's junk. Happy camping p.s. use bungees😃👍
