First of all, I love your videos! They are some of the best out there in woodworking. There was one thing I would change for another piece or project. I would have turned the corners the other way, so that even if the glue would break it would hold the pressure of the lether. Letting the top piece run on the outside would provide that support. Even I am a swiss carpenter I am always astonished by your work. Same for @EvanAndKatelyn. Thanks a lot for doing this!

I agree with you...the webbing/strips actually add a nice effect. Also, I think the nails/tacks would look good on the front and rear faces, just opposite of where they are on the inside, as a design element. Enjoyed the video!

1. I knew it was a really small section, so I figured I'd just be careful...b/c we were doing everything while Evan and Katelyn were over, didn't have time to finish before applying. 2. Another amazing project Chris, I really like the design as always! If I could make one criticism of the video though (not really that I'm in the position to do so given your videos are so much better than mine but hey ho) please can you limit the number of ad's in your videos. I appreciate the hussle but 5 ads/promos in a 13 minute video is too much... it ruins the flow of the video, making it feel less like watching an amazing craftsman at work and more like you're trying to be sold something. Maybe just try 1 ad in the video itself + patreon and then put the subscribe/Instagram/promos in writing at the end? Just a thought :)
@hoangtran957 жыл бұрын
JMakes I actually agree with you but I didn't get any ads on this video and usually 1 per video. I'm on mobile by the way so no AdsBlock. I just double tapped a few times to skip over the Patreon thanks and any part of the video that I don't enjoy as much. Compared to other criticisms, I appreciate your manner!
@jmakes37457 жыл бұрын
Are you talking about youtube ads or the ads in the actual video itself? (the patreon ad, grisly ad, subscribe promotion, Instagram promotion & evan and catlyn promotion. I don't see how ad block can stop the ones in the video - you're right the only way to do it, is to skip over them, but again it ruins the flow/feel of the video constantly having to go to the computer and clicking along instead of just sitting back & enjoying the video.
@hoangtran957 жыл бұрын
Oh I thought you meant the KZbin Ads. I agreed with you there. Most channels do like a sponsor ad at the beginning and 1 or 2 more at the end of the video so we have the option to just go to the next one without having to go through more ads. He can have ads and promotions but the key here is allocating them so that the video is his main source of attention.
@jmakes37457 жыл бұрын
Exactly, you've nailed it on the head. It feels as if the video is just a way to tie the ads together as opposed to the video being the main source of attention and the ads added on. I 100% agree - one sponsored ad per video max, a short patreon spot as an overlay to a repetitive part of the build, and then all the subscribe/Instagram/ promos etc just at links in the endscreen. If people want to check those things out they know to click, they don't need prompting.

Why'd you make the stretcher go under your thighs instead of have one on either side of you, and nothing on the front and back? Looks great though. I love Eames' wood and leather stuff.
@Foureyes.Furniture7 жыл бұрын
I liked the way it looked better...and it didn't need to be as big this way. The stretcher goes under the back of your leg if you're sitting up straight. Kind of like the way there is usually a gap between your legs and the front of a chair. If you lean it's still comfortable since it is rounded over and you're not putting weight in the front (since you'd be leaning back)
