Much more upbeat. Stayed awake 😜 They turned out great Sean. I love that taped-mitre glue up technique on carcass builds. Was cool seeing your son help helping out at the start.

love this design -- clean and simple lines -- and as ever, the finish is first class. Very skillfully made. Thanks for sharing your work. Best wishes.

Nice build. They came out really nice. A video on "angles" would be fantastic. Angles are always a struggle to figure out. If it's not 90 or 45, I'm like....forget it!
@SeanRubino7 жыл бұрын
+Joseph Muench thanks, Joseph! The outsides of the legs were angled at 10 degrees. That is the angle of the ends to keep the wood grain running straight. The inside angle was some arbitrary angle more than 10 degrees to make it look better (narrow foot and wider top).

those turned out great Sean can't even tell it's plywood I really like the drawers I know they're just basic drawers but for some reason I really like them LOL

+Joe basement woodworking thank you, Joe. The drawers were certainly the focal point. You don't see book matched drawer fronts on nightstands often.

Sean Rubino did you veneer the plywood yourself? (was it plywood?)
@SeanRubino7 жыл бұрын
+Walter Kessler I did't veneer the cases. Those were walnut plywood purchased from the lumber yard. I did veneer the back panels though. They were birch panels from the big box store and I veneered them with walnut instead of staining.

Great work man! Quick question - when edge banding the ply with solid wood, do you aim to get it flush on one side so you only have to clean up one face to flush it up, or just center it and flush up both sides?
@SeanRubino7 жыл бұрын
+Glen Vajcner thanks, Glen! I flush up both sides using the flush trim table saw fence. Very little needs to be done after. A little card scraping and that's it.
@gvajcner7 жыл бұрын
Sean Rubino oh yeah! Right! Just like in the video you put out. Duh... #numberonefan
@tomlagatol44487 жыл бұрын
Really enjoyed the video!...A question please, Is the blue masking tape just regular stuff or something like a painter's "frog tape". Thanks
@SeanRubino7 жыл бұрын
+Tom Lagatol thank you, Tom! The tape was Blue Tape from 3M. Some types have a less tackiness so it doesn't hurt delicate surfaces. That is usually marked with a colored "3M" logo.

I apologize if you already covered this question, but do you have plans for this project? I really like the design
@SeanRubino7 жыл бұрын
Thanks! Yes I do. On my site. Desktop version is more friendly. The plans are on the sidebar. Also, I had them professionally made so they are very well done. The plans are for the bed and nightstands.
