I love the art on the cover of The Legend of Skeleton Man! Fearing the Black Body sounds like a super interesting read.

😆 You got me with the olive oil comment! When I turned 30 about 5 years ago, my skin went haywire as well and I had never had acne before either. I almost purchased My Heart Is a Chainsaw last weekend.

I was like we all go along with the idea that celebrities just look that way... Like there is something special about why they don't age naturally but jlo took it too far! 🤣

The graphic you shared from the Interaction Institute for Social Change said it all. I could not settle into My Heart is a Chainsaw but after this video I want to try again. I had no idea Tamron Hall had a book.

That's funny that my struggle is making you want to read it again 😂

It was your compassionate talk about giving authors another chance.

It could be that you feel like you're missing something because maybe the books aren't being written for readers like you or me. Maybe they're written with their own culture as readers in mind. I find that in some books, and I felt that for _The Only Good Indians._ I am DYING to read _The Book of Accidents._ Lady Jane Books also read and reviewed it after seeing me post a picture of it on Instagram. I'm hoping the softcover comes out sometime next year.

I agree in regards to what you're saying that the books are made for other readers. I come to them wanting to understand though... So it's a bit of a catch 22 🤷🏿♀️

Have you read _Mapping the Interior_ by Stephen Graham Jones? It's a novella and I think you will really get on well with it. I loved it.

No I haven't but I plan on reading the rest of his stuff.

I've only read one book by Stephen Graham Jones, Night of the Mannequin, and I hated it. Unsure if I should give him another chance, when it doesn't sound like his other work is very good either... I'm so excited to read Fearing the Black Body!!

Awww that sucks about Night of the Mannequin! That was going to be my one more try book with him!

Great how you speak about these books. some FANTASTIC Native American novels I’d recommend to you if you are interested is The Break by Katherene Vermette, This Town Sleep by Dennis E Staples and There There by Tommy Orange

Well, Elizabeth Holmes made a big name for herself young, and we see how well that worked out lol. Thanks for your comments even on the books you weren't so into, because they save me from wasting time on them! Life is too short for sub-par books. Recently I read Take It Back by Kia Abdullah. Very good book

Interesting selection. If you want Native American recommendations I've just recently subscribed to Native Lady Book Warrior (Kim), who is a lot of fun, she's a Tewa-Hopi native Booktuber.
