Mid Range Cranking (How to catch 30 pounds in 10 minutes)

Sometimes when we go fishing we have it all mapped out on what it's suppose to be like then we get there and everything changes. We decided to go travel to a lake and try it out in the prespawn, my buddy Jason had been there 5 months earlier in the fall, and I had been there once years ago. When we got there everything had changed and we spent all day trying to figure it out. Luckily one little bait change in the right area made all the difference and we smoked on them. Not only did we catch them that day but we headed out there the next morning and did it in all new spots as well. This video goes to show you how fast it can happen. I got the new XD rods from Lews I throw the 8xd rod for 6xds and the 5xd rod is good for 5xds, or deep little ns.

I’m learning the 6- 16ft cranking as we speak ive been catching good on Rayburn with this depth range lot of 2 1/2 lb fish but have picked up one over 6 and one almost 6 recently and lot in between

I have 2 questions boss. What rods were yal using and where the gear ratios the same or different? Do you think that had an impact on the quality each were catching or strictly color? I currently have glass and composite rods and I can't make up my mind which I like better. Also what is a good -affordable deep diving composite rod, the rods I have work well on medium divers but not deep divers.

Gear ratios the same and yes I think it was color. I have older rods for all my deep cranking stuff. I wish I could help you in trying one out at the moment if I like it I’ll let you know.

I know you throw 6xd's on 16# but what about series 5's and 5xd's? Do you throw them on all the same setups and gear ratios?

I throw 6xds on 20 but it’s Sunline so the diameter is smaller than most other lines. Gear ratio yes, line I’ll throw 16

Hey Todd love the video the Norman middle n is my favorite middle range crankbait. My second favorite is probably the strike King pro series 3 and the wiggle war style baits like a g3 from Lucky strike or the original wiggle wart is my third great information though love the video
