A book I highly recommend is “The Astonishing Color of After” by Emily X.R. Pan. It was one of my favorite books of last year. You follow a girl who, after the death of her mother, goes to visit her grandparents in (I believe) Taiwan to learn more about her mother and her past and see if her mother has been turned into this bird that she keeps seeing. It was so well done. So beautiful. Highly highly recommend.

Loved this video! I actually just started listening to The Poet X the other day and am beating myself up for not getting to it sooner. Still have a bit left to go but it’s shaping up to be easily part of my top 5 books this year. I also was really moved by Hurricane Child by Kacen Callender. As for anticipated releases, this might be a bit of a cheat but, I’m not so patiently awaiting for my copy of Empire of Gold to come in the mail 😭

elizabeth acevedo owns my whole heart tbh, and yes circe had me feeling HOLLOW after i finished it! i'll def update once i've finished the mountains sing (if i am ever emotionally ready to actually sit down and read it), i already feel like it'll be a five-star :o we should buddy read henna wars together if you're up to it!! i want to start it soon :") and oooh u should still read renegades ! i like it a lot, but the second book in the series was just sooooo hdsjfjklsdhfjkh, i'm hoping the third in the trilogy gets things back on track! there are so many fans of ready player one but i just could not vibe with it during my reread ... so sad T.T also YES i was lucky to read so many good YA contemporaries which surprised me so much! usually not my fave genre but there are some serious gems. i need to finish heartstopper too huhu

If you want some more asian type stories I HIGHLY recommend the Dark Heavens series by Kylie Chan. There are three trilogies in the series, os it's quite long. Dark Heavns, Journey to Wudang and Celestrial battle are the trilogies. I hope you see my comment and have a look at them!!
