I loved The Last Murder at the End of the World! It’s such a puzzle box of a book that makes you pay attention to every little clue to figure out what the hell is going on.

@@kelleyeasterling all I know is that there will be another book but Viv won’t be the main protagonist, that’s all he said. I had asked initially if he got his character ideas for his characters from a game called Coffee Time, to which his answer was: No he didn’t as he had never played the game but became aware of it when people brought it to his attention. Going back to when I asked about the next book the exact reply was: Viv will ideally show up again although I don’t believe she will be the main protagonist. That was back in April I spoke to him

Here’s my answers 😃 1. Favourite book: The Shining by Stephen King 2. Favourite sequel:The Last Devil to Die by Richard Osman 3. New Release: I’m 100 pages into the Midnight Feast by Lucy Foley 4. Most anticipated release for 2nd half of 2024: also We Solve Murders 5. Biggest disappointment: i have several; Salem’s Lot by Stephen King (my least favourite book by him so far), If we were Villains by ML Rio and most of all The Girl on The train by Paula Hawkins 6. Biggest surprise: Fourth Wing by Rebecca Yarros 7. Favourite new author: Holly Jackson ( I loved the Reappearance of Rachel Price) 8: Crush: Amy Dunne (Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn) (jk she’s a bit unhinged) 9. Newest Favourite Character: Ye Wenjie (The Three Body Problem by Cixin Liu) 10: book that made me cry: Fourth wing and The Last Devil to Die 😢 11: Book that made me happy: The Mystery Guest by Nita Prose 12: Most beautiful book : Fourth Wing black and gold paperback or The Midnight feast orange hardback by Lucy Foley 13: Book i need to read by end of year: 11 22 63 by Stephen King (730 pages!!!)

Glad you loved Pride and Prejudice, really need to reread it, read it in 2008! Btw a confession: I haven't watched the BBC series (yet) 😂 only the 2005 movie and I really love that one, it is actually also funny at times.

Spinning silver by Naomi Novik is one of my favorite fantasy standalone novels. I haven't read Uprooted because people had said that if you love Spinning silver, you will probably dislike Uprooted 😅😅

It's been said that spinning silver is way better than uprooted. People who like spinning silver tend to hate uprooted, so there's that. And the dark fairy tale vibes are stark in spinning silver, it's quite good. It's giving cold Russian folklore vibes. Might not live up to the bear and the nightingale but it's better than uprooted. Also deadly education (the scholomance books) by Naomi is really fun to, to me at least it's one of my fave trilogies.

Can’t believe you didn’t mention Somewhere Beyond the Sea for most anticipated! That’s probably tied with The Examiner for me. Favorite of the year, biggest surprise, and book that made me cry (no, BAWL): Lonely Castle in the Mirror.

Not here to tell you to watch the movie, because I get the dedication. The movie is my favorite and I grew up on it and Matthew is my Darcy 100%. But just saying the movie is actually hilarious and does a good job of capturing that in the shortened film version

I can’t believe it’s already that time of year! Also, I read Spinning Silver first and loved it. 5 stars. Then I tried uprooted and…it was horrible. All that to say, it might be worth checking out SS!

I kind of forgot how this tag works and I got seriously concerned for myself that I don't have any recollection of you reading The Last Murder at the End of the World 🤣 And I've also read Pride and Prejudice for the first time this year, and I'm quite proud of myself as I'm not a native speaker 😅

I never really enjoyed the BBC adaptation of P&P that much because all of the main characters always looked like they were in their late 40s to me, so I could never believe that we were talking about young 20 years old and younger (for Lydia, Mary & Kitty) 😅 Also, I found Darcy to be quite mean in the BBC adaptation, while in the movie he's adorably awkward 😊 and I personally much prefer that interpretation of the character

Love that Jane got your best book of the year so far! You have such a cool personal connection to her. And, "The Last Murder at the End of the World"....after you read it, if you give it a big thumbs-up I shall *instantly* order it, as the premise does indeed sound amazing.
