In this video, we're going to take a look at the newly released Midas DP48 Personal Monitor Mixer, we compare it to the Live Mix Personal Monitor Mixer, and dive through each feature! This is something many of us have been waiting for and it does not disappoint! I'm very excited to see what the M32 4.0 update brings as well as find out what the heck this Hub 4 is!?
Leave a comment letting me know your thoughts on the new DP48 and of course, like and subscribe!
*Update 1* The My Group is not in addition to the 12 groups, it counts as one of the 12.
*Update 2* The aux in for clicks is not available locally except for the unit it's plugged into :(

Great information - thank you for taking the time to provide this overview. Super excited about this monitor mixer. Massive upgrade from the P16. 48 channels, on board recording, on board reverb/compression, 2 separate mixes of 48 channels, no scribble strips. Now because we use wireless IEMs - Im wondering how this works in terms of physically taking the out of the mix from the DB48 and sending it to the Wireless IEM transmitter which sits back in the rack with the X32/S16. If you can just pull the mix off a pair of XLR outs and cable that to the wireless transmitters in the rack (like we currently do) we'd be in business. But of we'd have to run 1/4" to XLR cables physically from the outputs of the DB48 back to the rack - thats messy. Could use stage snakes but hoping we can just dial up the DB48 mix in the software and send that to the XLR outs on the X32 and be done.

BBloom thanks for watching! I’ll be doing more of these in the future, so be sure to subscribe if you haven’t already :) From what I can gather, you’ll be able to send your mix back over AES50, meaning that mix will be available to route on your console to your physical XLR outputs. I can’t say the exact steps as the 4.0 software update hasn’t been released or even announced yet, but the copy in the advertisement for the DP48 was pretty clear about this being possible.

@@ChurchTechTalks Actually the 4.0 software was announced on a german website. Posted on some forums, but the original article seems to have been taken down. Main upgrade seem to be in routing (no longer limited to routing in blocks of 8).

BBloom I heard that too, but wasn’t able to find the source, we’ll know soon I’m sure!

6:14 Did you ever figure out if the local click input could be distributed to other DP48 units connected to the system?
@ChurchTechTalks
@ChurchTechTalks 3 жыл бұрын
Actually, Music Group contacted me after I made this and they said they loved the idea, sent me some pre-release units, and I’ve been working with them and giving feedback for all the DP48 software updates! They did add the click feature :)

@@ChurchTechTalks So, if I understand you correctly, a musician on stage can play a local click into his own DP48 and have his local click appear as an available channel in the other members DP48 units?
@ChurchTechTalks

@@northtrader I believe so, though I haven’t tried it yet. It should come through on AES50A 39 & 40. I’d refer you to music groups line diagram of the DP48’s routing mediadl.musictribe.com/download/software/midas/HUB4/HUB4_Routing_Diagram.pdf

Hello Scot, I'm luis from Brussels, Belgium and we would like to add the DP48's to our Midas Pro X, we have 1 DL 251 and 1 DL 153 with Neutron and Neutron NB, I was told for an spetialist from Midas that we need to incorporate a Midas MR18 rack in order to get the DP48's to work, could you pleae help me to do the set up?
@ChurchTechTalks
@ChurchTechTalks 3 жыл бұрын
That doesn't sound right to me. The MR18 doesn't have any AES50 ports on it, so I don't know how he would expect to connect that to your DL251. Beyond that, your Midas Pro X is going to run at 96k, which none of the Midas M or Behringer X stuff can do. What you actually need is a DN9650 and a KT-AES50 card. This will convert your AES50 run from 96k to 48k and allow you to connect directly to a Hub4 and to the DP48's.

hello is it possible to connect yamaha h8 2x monitor to the dp 48?
@ChurchTechTalks
@ChurchTechTalks 3 жыл бұрын
Yes. In fact, you could hook up four Yamaha H8's. It's got two stereo outputs. One stereo output for Mix A and another stereo output for Mix B.

I must also fit into a video table which is in mono jack 1/4 ... so I know how to put my 2 x monitors + 1x 1/4 c jack is possible this configuration?
@ChurchTechTalks
@ChurchTechTalks 3 жыл бұрын
@@dobel1974 I’m not exactly sure what your configuration is based on your description, but the DP48 has two stereo 1/4 outputs and two mono 1/4 outputs, so you can look at your setup and determine if that will work for you :) good luck!
