The Midnight Children has a gorgeous cover! ooh I wasn't sure about The Grace of Wild Things but you're making me want to pick it up!

Wow, Moongarden has a gorgeous cover😍. Jennifer A. Nielson is one of my favorite authors and I really need to read more of her books. I definitely found some new favorite middle grade books this month, The Blameless by E.S. Christison, and the duology with The Insignificant Events In the Life of a Cactus by Dusti Bowling.

Odder sounds super cute and I read the preview of The Thing I'm Most Afraid of. I'm adding both to my TBR. This month I enjoyed reading the graphic novels Harriet Tubman: Toward Freedom and The Flower Garden.

I read Odder in one sitting and fell in love with it. I did participate in Middle Grade March. I'm hoping to sneak in one more book before the month ends.

My favorite so far is The Grace of Wilder Things, followed by The Swifts and The Moongarden. But I have read a lot of middle grade this month and loved most of it. I am getting better at picking books for myself I guess.

I still need to read The Swifts! It's on my list!

Ooh, adding Moongarden and The Grace of Wild Things to my tbr! I did not enjoy The Penderwicks but I know I'm super in the minority with that opinion 😅. Oh my goodness I LOVED Alone too!! And you are so right - that particular scene with the animal cruelty shocked me. It was bordering YA sometimes. But wow did I love it!

That scene in alone… I saw an interview with the author about her reasoning for it and it actually made a lot of sense as to why it’s in the book.

Interesting. I'll have to see if I can find the interview.

I haven't read many books this month. Most have been dnf's and I don't think I'll read another book before the month is over. Maybe I just need a break from books for a few weeks. It's been disappointing to see how many books have sucked for me. I hope you have fun reading the next set of books and have more 5 stars than in the ifrst half of the month.

Oh man! I'm so sorry you're having a rough reading month! That's the worst! Maybe try something completely different?

I am participating in middle grade March. So far I have read Macy McMillan and the Rainbow Goddess, Rain Reign, and Odder. I am almost finished with A Rover's Story. I probably won't get any more middle grade books read because I need to read The Measure for my book club.

I read Iceberg because you mentioned it. I listened to it on Scribd and it was so good (even though I avoid anything about the Titanic because it creeps me out)... I loved Jennifer Nielsen's writing!

Not gonna lie the Titanic freaks me out too. But this one was great!

I ended up DNFing The Girl Who Drank the Moon. I could not get into it at all. Maybe I'll try it again later, but probably not.

Amanda, I enjoyed hearing about and watching the books you read up to now for Middle-Grade March. Up to now, I read 13 middle-grade books and started my 14th one. From the books I read, I enjoyed the following: 1. Attack of the Black Rectangles - Amy Sarig King (A.S. King); 2. The Last Cuentista - Donna Barba Higuera; 3. Lupe Wong Won't Dance - Donna Barba Higuera; 4. The Ogress and the Orphans - Kelly Barnhill (loved book 5 ✨, even though I didn't like The Girl Who Drunk the Moon as well.); 5. No Matter the Distance - Cindy Balwin (fantastic own voices book as the main character and the author have CF); 6. Amari and the Night Brothers - B. B. Alston; 7. Amari and the Great Game - B. B. Alston.
