Thank you for another great informative video of Middleton. The updated information is just as great as the video. This week they will be starting another batch of construction in the phase 2 area around Gosine Place Street area. It would be interesting to see how fast they go up.

My understanding is they have built about 400 homes in Middleton and plan over 8,000 homes.

The only thing I find a bit weird is that they are building Middleton and Eastport very close together.

They are close together but they won't really be intertwined like it looks. At least in my mind.

All of the squares are open to the public already and Middleton will have golf cart access to the rest of The Villages. The high school is only 15 minutes from Brownwood Paddock square, 10 minutes to Sawgrass Grove, and it looks like it will be 5 minutes to Eastport (by car). But aside from the public entertainment and shopping, Middleton residents won't have access to any of the villages amenities, so the proximity to the squares shouldn't crowd out the Villagers too much, unless they're coming to spend money, and nobody should be mad at that. Eastport is intended to be a little more active, with lots of sports-related features, so maybe it's by design to have some of the younger people around.

It is. If you know nothing about the Village’s, it covers now 3 counties and several cities and is massive in size, with over 140,000 residents and continuing to grow. There are a lot, I mean a lot of businesses, restaurants and medical facilities that support it. They have always had a charter school that is for those that work in the Villages. The community really supports the charter schools and they are first class A rated schools. The Village’s is unlike any 55+ community you will ever see in the United States. It is not your typical 55+ community with mostly single family homes and over 3,000 clubs and organizations that do a tremendous amount of volunteer work and quite a few residents are still working, as they own their own businesses,etc. The Tracy, will be their fourth performing arts theater that will equal high end facilities in Las Vegas and New York and draw some big name performances and performers. That is just one of the many things encompassing The Villages.

This area will basically be self sustaining and they won't be traveling out and about to the 55+ areas anyway.

How will they be kept out? Putting that many teens adjacent to 55/up communities, there is most certainly going to be an uptick in crime. And what if the employees of The Villages who have children that go to school there get fired, are they going to make that kid leave school in the middle of the year? It’s not my idea of a great community when there’s 2000 teenagers right up the street from me.@@PapaPineapples

I guess you were never a teenager...... just saying. Our experience living near the original Villages Charter school on 466 is that they are extremely well behaved and a joy to be around. We have often over the years attended their football games even by golf cart and enjoyed every bit of it. Made us want to go back to school. We have recently attended several events at the new school and it is unlike anything we have ever seen. We grew up in Miami and never in our. wildest dreams had anything like what these kids have here of course that was many, many, many years ago. We attended a concert at the schools new Tracy performing arts theater the other night and as we left a young man was standing with his parents talking and stepped away to open the door for us leaving. We said thank you very much and he acknowledged saying you're welcome have a nice evening! Don't be so judgmental until you have some experience around them. It is truly not your typical high school.
