Will this work with the Rodecaster Pro 2?

@@GlennUpgraded I think it does! RØDE website has an official guide how to enable the MIDI mode. I didn’t look into the fine details but sounds like it would work with MIDIGrade no problem. If you end up trying please join the Discord server and let us know how it went.

Hello! I saw that you are using a midi grade product for color grading in DaVinci Resolve. I was wondering if it is possible to use it in the same way in Premiere. Specifically, I want to know if it is possible to use the Lumetri color functions through each button. If Premiere does not support midi grade products, I am also curious if you plan to release a product with these features in the future. Please reply as soon as possible. Thank you. In the introduction, I could see that you wrote, 'MIDIGrade includes a whopping 180 different DaVinci Resolve functions for you to access with ease! You can also customise it to work with other software like Adobe Premiere or Final Cut Pro.' So, I'm waiting for your answer with great hope. I really wish it's possible to use, and it will bring a huge productivity boost to Premiere users. I would

can i use midigrade to color grade my footage with image in fullscreen mode?
@MIDIGrade
@MIDIGrade 4 күн бұрын
Sadly that's not an option. What I do when I'm on the go without my grading monitor is use the keyboard shortcut to toggle between fullscreen and back. Scopes are visible only when out of the fullscreen mode anyway so toggling between the two is kinda necessary.

@@MIDIGrade and there is no workaround like second virtual monitor on another desktop or smth?
@MIDIGrade

@@vladimirgrishin8574 Maybe there is but I haven't looked into that. I always have 2+ monitors in my suite, and if I expect to do a major grade job on the go, I use an iPad as the second monitor. If you discover something related to this, make sure to share it with the community in the MIDIGrade Discord server!

I used the demo version (version 4), with just the keyboard, but it only worked for a few days, so I couldn't really understand how it works and whether it can be useful to me. It would be nice to have a video that explains in a little more detail what needs to be done using just the keyboard, the video of previous versions is a bit cryptic. Will there be a chance to try version 5? Thank you

@@PaoloDurandetto Thanks for your feedback. A video solely focused on the keyboard function is in the works. I'll possibly look into re-introducing the demo later, still haven't decided on that.

back about 10 years ago i was trying to implement a full MIDI mixing desk for sound programs. The issue I ran into is that the resolution of MIDI is 128 steps which is not enough and i assume that its fairly similar for these tools. functional digital controllers all used proprietary software to work at a higher resolution. Has your software addressed this?
@MIDIGrade

@@flo-photo The application is quite different in this instance, as the output is not tied to the value per se - instead, what drives the adjustment is direction. In other words, when the MIDI CC values 0 or 127 are hit (in absolute mode) and there’s inputs of repeated CC with the same value, the application of the adjustment continues. So it’s not limited to the 128 step range.

What you are describing is absolute midi. Relative midi allows for very sensitive control. It can detect speed of how fast or slow you turn a knob. You can never use relative midi with a midifader that has no motors or a fixed midi rotary knob. These do have their use case. That’s why this works and has worked more than 10 years ago. It works with controllers that have endless encoders. BCR2000, APC40 mk1 etc. These can send relative midi cc. Increments/decrements. And if you have endless encoders with led feedback they can also be absolute knobs because the software can provide current values. Macro’s work the same way.

Here BCR2000. At least 20 years old. Every encoder had absolute and 3 relative modes. You could use these for controlling anything. Usually with mouse scroll inputs and mouse on screen coordinates. Using Controllermate or Bome. Not plug and play with a nice interface as this tool provides. Trust me. It’s a lot of work to design a system like this. With this product you see programming ,design and actual practical user experience in a single brain. So even after 20 years. I respect this generalist expert a lot. 😊

Is an ios device still needed to use MidiGrade on a macbook? Or have you found a workaround that enables us to directly use it?
@MIDIGrade

@@xacck7203 You must be referring to using a gamepad like the Xbox or Playstation controller, right? That's why a 3rd party app was used; in normal operation no iOS device is required!

@@MIDIGrade ah yes i'm referring to the use of gamepads! Are there no alternative 3rd party apps that can be used inside the mac device (e.g. macbook) to serve the purpose? Just to cut out the middle man there
@MIDIGrade
@MIDIGrade 2 ай бұрын
@@xacck7203 Gamepads don't output MIDI notes so you would need something to translate the inputs into MIDI outputs. I don't consider this as an issue; most MIDI controller manufacturers require one to use their software to customise the MIDI outputs anyway, so it's not that different.
