Midland, Texas - Real Estate & Hoods Tour - Drive Thru

Midland is a city in western Texas. Part of the Permian Basin area, it’s an oil industry center. At the Permian Basin Petroleum Museum, interactive exhibits detail the history of local oil exploration and include Boom Town, a replica 1930s oil town with a land office and general store. Dating from 1939, the George W. Bush Childhood Home has been restored to its 1950s state, when the 43rd president lived there.

Hey! I'd love to talk to you sometime! I have a small pool service here in Tampa. I was thinking about moving out to Od-Mid, doing some pools and looking for some stripper wells or something. Can I ask what you get on average? Here, most simple pools run from $100 to $150 a month for once a week service and I pay for chems, D.E, routine back-washing and or salt. There are some really complicated, huge pools owned by sports stars, etc. The highest I ever charged was $250 month, that was 15 years ago. Now I like to keep it simple. We run 365 days a year, no closing and opening. Price can vary, as you know, that is just a common price. What do you charge there? I appreciate any answer in advance! Thanks!

The town where Laura ( Welsh) and George Bush and Jen Bush grew up in. Their Dad, Bush senior, and the town was very conservative and the pioneers in the 1940s started the oil business and where the town became the richest per cap city in America. Jim Hall and Hap Sharp race Chaparral cars were made in Midland. Unfortunately George jr. after becoming Pres turned to RINO and liberal mush. The town started losing its luster in the 2000 era when Exxon and Pennzoil became dirty names to the liberals. But still a good town if you like great restaurants, hunting rattlesnakes and rabbits and joining the tennis or country club. Not much for HS kids to do except play sports ( football against Permian was much like Friday Night TV series) and kiss the good girls who go no further…still small town. If liberals have there way on EV cars and such, forget moving to Midland, as the oil business will dry up and so will Midland.

The town itself isn't bad, the fact that it's in the middle of no where and there's nothing to do is what drove me nuts. Small town life isn't bad if it's near a big city or something other than an ocean of sand. I grew up from 4th grade on there, and left in 2009 and will never return, not even to visit.

@@CuriousEarthMan Lubbock is a 2hr drive through flat farm land and only slightly better but the same, its 2 hours north of Midland but same , trapped in the middle of nowhere, it's all good if u like that small town life with hardly any outsiders coming and the only way to escape is a 6 hour drive or a flight to somewhere else.... Some people only want that life style but it wasn't for me... In almost 15 years I only went to Lubbock maybe 4 times and was bored when I was there.

@@ezeNdog I understand very well. I wouldn't live where I felt disconnected from the wider world, even if the land was open and clear. I'm looking around in TX and I don't see a place yet where I would want to live (I'm trying to get near oil wells, so I might have to buy a small commercial thing and stay living where I am on the other side of the Gulf of Mx. in another state. I thought Lubbock might work because of the college always having a flow of people up do date with society...so like closer to Odessa, for example, and < than two hours to Lubbock. Just thinking out loud here. Thanks! btw, what kinds of farms near Lubbock?
