Underrated scene, the first time I saw it I did´t know if I was watching a modern piece of montage with all that frenetic rhythm.

I’ve lived in NYC for 20 years. Today, Friday, September 29, 2023, I experienced this exact nightmarish sequence in real life. All of it. From beginning to end. Even the same music. But with smells, too.

"Fever dream" is right. Expertly put together scene, I find it gut-churning to watch, very disturbing yet entrancing. As I commented in another video containing this same scene, the quick flashes of Joe and Annie's gang rape are just brutal, like stab wounds, especially those shots of Joe's face as he's getting it. Shocking stuff for 1969.
