Gosh that blanket weed causes so many issues. Hope the treatment knocks it all back. That certainly is a lot of blanket weed. Good thing you managed to get the pump and pipes cleared out. Hopefully your blanket weed treatment will do the job and get rid of it. Thank goodness for the leak detector. It certainly saved the day and koi. Fingers crossed you find a new job soon. 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

Andy, can you fit a prefiltter bafore the pump . I've seen a pond where the guy had a filter off a paddling pool. Would you be able to do that it maybe easyer to clean.

@DerbyKoi that's fine it's just that I've seen a padling pool pot before the pump he didnot use the pump that was with it. It was about the size of a kettle. So, just a thought .I hope you are all fine.

Blanket answer works however it can make sludge black sticky stuff I always use hydrogen peroxide which kills the blanket weed 1lt per 1000gal 3%

Hi mate, I have tried hydrogen peroxide in the past, and it slowed it down but didn't clear it completely.

I have installed a pond zinger from Hatton koi in my moving bed and the blanket weed has disappeared.

It might seem a bit of a mad idea but if you could make something like a witches broom 🧹 and wrap it through and pull the blanket weed it would help keep it from getting as bad. Gwen 🧓
