This is a classic, and a classic Oils song and moment. Midnight Oil has always been about the medium AND the message. Bulls-eye on both with this timely anthem. Played an average of 12 times a day since released...and that isn't going to change soon. Beautiful, full of pathos and desperate emotional honesty. Thanks eternally!

The power that came off the stage was something to behold. And here they are 40 years later still kicking ass. Will be sad when they play that final song. Lol they are peddling the status quo, conformity, NIMByism, big government globalism, and pretty much every other modern evil that Rock and Roll and punk were originally intended to push back against. We need new avant-garde bands to push back against modern government tyranny, because washed-up sell outs like the Oils are sucking the cock of Morrison and Andrews. Sid Vicious is the only one still actively fighting back against the establishment.

It's as good as some songs on "Diesel and Dust" and "Blue Sky Mining", which is remarkable when I never expected they would ever write again anything that I want to listen to. It will never be as good as some of the early Oils songs, but you can't expect artists in their 60s to be as creative as they once were, that's part of life. @@andrewsparks4112 This is genocide. Food shortages and wars expected as world warms Ben Webster Environment Editor Climate change could lead to wars as global food shortages and more frequent heatwaves fuel political instability and mass migration, a report claims. Crop yields could fall by 30 per cent by 2050 because of a trebling in land affected by severe drought unless countries step up efforts to cut emissions, the Chatham House think tank said. There would be almost a 50 per cent chance of two or more of the top four corn-producing countries - Argentina, Brazil, China and the US - simultaneously losing 10 per cent of their normal crop in the 2040s. About 700 million people a year could be exposed to droughts lasting at least six months by 2040, double the global historic annual average. The number of deaths caused by heatwaves could increase to 10 million a year in the 2030s, up from almost 300.000 in 2018 in the 65-plus group. *More than 400 million people could by then live in areas where it is too hot to work outside. The report concludes: “Cascading climate impacts will probably cause higher mortality rates, drive political instability and greater national insecurity, and fuel regional and international conflict.”*

Thank you, guys, for being a constant light at the end of the tunnel. These are dark times and unfortunately, Brazilian (mis)government is a guilty one. But we can always trust the power of the Oils' messages. Fantastic music. Hugs from a Brazilian long time fan.

It's hard to feel any pride in being Australian these days given our shit politics, but we can still at least be proud of The Oils. Great song that should be compulsory listening. The bass at the back brings a lump to the throat
