In tonight's episode of Midnight Scenes, life at Fernwood Creek Mental Health Center is altered by the arrival of a new patient. He doesn't speak, doesn't relate to anyone, and hides a dark secret.
Elijah, a boy who silently suffers the scorn of the other inmates, forms a special bond with this stranger. But something emerges from the darkness, giving way to disturbing incidents that lead Elijah to discover a chilling truth.

I do think this will be part 2 of 3. the scene in the bathroom brought back memories of boys setting my hair on fire in school for being a "witch".....that kind of hate is very real. I hope Elijah and Oliver get a happy ending...I love the themes in these games. Social ostracization, oppression (both social and mental), prejudice, etc. I think these games really get it right in terms of using horror to talk about something larger than just a ghost story.

I'm glad that you've enjoyed this one, though I'll add a couple of interesting things that you've missed. #1 If you've thoroughly went through Dr. Green's drawer before picking up the key, you'll discover that aside from the male strip club that she frequents (the silver membership card), Elijah will mention that the lipstick has the same color as the one that he found on Al's shirt collar. XD And #2, if you actually went past the end credits, you'll find various photos (with Tina in the background) which denotes a happy ending for both Elijah and Oliver.

"It looks like a black frog" got me. Next time I need to get tazed, I'll just giggle. I appreciate the mix of games on your channel. This is a nice balance to the Dead Space remake - which I also enjoyed, don't get me wrong; but all dark stampy-boom-splat, all the time, would wear thin after a while. It's comforting to visit slightly lighter horror so we don't become -too- jaded.

This series must be one of my absolute favourites in the channel. I don't know about others, but I really enjoyed the story. Sometimes, when a game is heavy on story and there's too much to read while you're trying to stay alive, it takes away from the lore. This was perfectly paced, and you actually get to develop feelings for the characters and their storylines.

A great experience. Gameplay was a bit shy, but the story was awesome. When I saw it on Steam I was hoping to see your playthrough of it. Honestly, as a medium I enjoy this as a way to tell the dev and co's story. I've never understood why 'walking sim' became a bad thing, interactive media is often more effective than simply watching the tv.

I really enjoyed this one ! As you pointed out, there's obviously barely any game play but as a narrative experience this is top notch, with beautiful pixel art. I was nicely surprised that this was a follow-up to the last Midnight Scenes episode, which I enjoyed, so we could check up on Oliver and poor Tina. Elijah is a great main character, with some really well-written dialogue. Imo, these characters' story could end right here, but if the devs decide to continue it in the next episode, all the better !

Oh, this was surprisingly good! (Despite, like you said, not much gameplay, and not even much of an exploration-feeling like some other single path games do.) The writing was great and really held everything together, it also trusted viewers to get the subtle sarcasm and story beats without over explaining anything. Even the more complicated relationships like the one between Elijah and the psychiatrist have an organic feeling to it. The art is fun too and I hope we get to see more of Tina in the future.

Thanks for playing the next Midnight Scenes game! Surprised and glad to see it continued the story from the previous game! It explained a lot of what happened in the previous game. One question is, who or what is this Mother? Is she some ancient entity that has lived in the forest? Was she actually the first nanny who mysteriously went missing since she seems fixated on Oliver and Tina and knows the lullaby the nanny sang to them when they were much younger? I hope there is a sequel continuing Oliver and the Mother who has taken Tina's body to go mobile. In other news: White Day 2: The Flower That Tells Lies has just been released! I hope you can get to playing this sequel to White Day soon!

Loved the game! Midnight Scenes had proved to be able to create really weird and supernatural atmospheres in shor games, with such interesting cosmic horror scenerios but is so satisfaing to see that they can make longer and more complex stories. Im more interested to what other stories they make in the future. Thanks for the playtrouhg Chris! This was so good! Fun that it continued the story of Oliver and Tina while expanding the world and the story's themes. I can't wait to see what the next Scenes game will be like and if it'll continue the story of the characters in this game or have an all-new cast. Also, I do like the thought of us queer people having a Tina as a fierce guardian.

I believe a final game will happen & I think I see how this will unfold..... "Mother" never died.....only transferred her energy into Tina's body, which allowed her to be mobile again. This game series hinted that the forest entity can move so maybe it "rooted" itself in place for the kids?? Remember she never wanted them to leave her cave.....bcuz she couldn't leave either! Now she can, so it's easier to stay with Oliver (now Elijah too). So.... next game the 2 boys are adults & are a romantic couple together. They start a family of their own & maybe their children are lured into the forest.... to prevent the cycle repeating, Oliver & Elijah have to do whatever to stop the Mother/Tina amalgamation for good.

Detention facilities usually have security cams situated at the entrance of shower rooms. An officer is posted in the shower area. The idea of being in custody is to impose the fact that you've forfeited your personal freedoms and right to privacy. The officer is there to keep the business of showering moving along without incident. There should probably be a similar set up in care facilities.
