It didnt suck by any stretch, but compared to the first one it fell on its face.
@DecKrash18 күн бұрын
@@herrikudoI didn't feel that it was unfocused; Shadow's story told in flashbacks was something that I felt was done very well, and rather gave definition through nonlinear storytelling., but I do agree that they should have built up knuckles as a character a little bit, as for tails, he's simply the brains of the group, and I've never really seen much done with him. As for the human element in the movies concerning Sonic's family, from what I've seen, a lot of people actually liked the fact that they downplayed the humans outside of Robotnik. Sonic was just concerned with being good. Mufasa is trying so hard to beat one of the greatest animated films by arguing that it being hand-drawn, 90s Disney flare made it immature and these "close to life" action movies are needed to make the stories "real". Disney wasn't proving animation was real of anything but being a REAL and amazing tool for storytelling whoch is why he went with animation to begin with. Too many in Disney now think animation is immature and if they 'like' animation, they always try to censor and stop real innovation and style experiments, explaining why they're stupid Steven Universe shit style is leaking into the CGI sphere, as that's the industry approved style because it's "safe and progressive". Art doesn't evolve by preventing people from creating it and limiting HOW they make it and the subject of it. This is why Disney has been failing recently. They want art to be a vehicle for politics and politics only and as result, all they can make for a majority is trash because they've strangled art for narcissistic reasons. Sonic is just pure fun. At the end of the day that's what the series was created for, on top of wanting to innovative the technology capabilities at the time. It's fun and it embraced that. Something that is aware of it just being plain fun will get more respect from me than something that PRETENDS to be greater than it is, all for the sake of vanity.

Frankly I want to watch Mufasa but it won't be at the theater. No big deal to me if it flops, I had a feeling it would. The reason it failed is because: 1. It had to compete with a franchise that people are more crazy about. 2. People who prefer more violence or action find Mufasa too boring like a nature documentary. 3. A lot of people don't like prequels/backstories, especially to a character that everyone knows died halfway into the original movie. (Yet, the Star Wars prequels did good) 4. People are too burned from the soulless Lion King remake to give Mufasa a chance. 5. Disney changed the first story written about Mufasa and Taka. 6. People are tired of CGI being called 'live action' when practically nothing in it is real stuff. They miss the talent, effort and color pop of 2D animation.

If a studio is putting out an "adaption" or "extension" of someone else's successful brand, property, or work (of which Sonic and Lion King are both one of those things), they have an obligation to the FANS who made those works successful. If they treat those fans with respect, and reward their loyalty (which Paramount did), they will win. If they spit at the feet of the fans (which Disney routinely does), they will lose.

I saw Sonic 3 opening night and it deserves all the success it's getting. I'm not too interested in a Mufasa prequel especially if I have to chose between it and a Sonic movie.

*This would have been unthinkable a decade ago.* A Disney flagship film getting outperformed by some Paramount video game movie?? Are you serious? Not to take away form Paramount's efforts, they did almost EVERYTHING right with Sonic, but Disney have done the exact opposite - Its incredible to watch. Their nosedive has been infinitely more entertaining to watch that any of their shit films.

I think the first "Ugly Sonic" was a masterful psyop. It reminds me of how producer Dave Filoni handled Asoka in StarWars Clone Wars animated series. It boils down to this: You KNOW everyone is going to hate the movie/character. You control WHAT they hate about the movie/character. And once the hatred is linked to a specific characteristic, you can remove that characteristic.

Does Mufasa have the nepotism of JayZ and Beyonce with a child with a trademarked name of Blue Ivy. Isn't she the same age as some other girl that filed charges of something. I'm so bored and angry right now.

Saw Sonic 3 with my sons (13, 11, 7), as we had been anxiously awaiting it since Sonic 2. It did not disappoint. We all loved it. Of the 30 releases I've seen in 2024 so far, Sonic 3 currently sits in the top spot for me (not objectively, but as far as favorite movie/experience goes/watchability).

If there is something Disney’s good at and that’s giving its customers something they didn’t ask for. No one even asked for this, and yet Disney thought this would be what they wanted to serve to everyone.

I watched Sonic 3. As a fan of the franchise I felt pandered to in the best way possible. So much fan service and nods to those who knew them while keeping a more consistent pace than the previous movie. Turns out when you listen to your audience you can get good feedback from them.

What a lot of people tend to forget is it wasn't just Sonic fans that hated the original design, it was literally everyone. Several media outlets and even the original Sonic creators said it was terrifying. They HAD to change it because the reputation of the movie had been damaged too severely by that point

I’m not proud to admit that I went to see Lion king live action on the theater when it came out, yearning to feel what I felt watching the animated one, but it felt hollow and soulless. I felt so tricked that I refused to watch every other live action remake that came out of Disney.

The primary reason why Sonic's redesign was celebrated is because... to be a sonic fan is to be part of a 30+ year old fandom that transcends "current year" and "modern day". There is no politics, only Sonic. And now here we are, on movie #3 and melting over our favorite edgehog showing up!

I saw sonic 3 on friday. It's a good time movie, but not sure it's as good as some are hyping it up to be. Im a huge sonic fan so im not a hater, but maybe had too high of expectations from the it being hyped up too much. It's pretty focused on the small kid demographic with enuff for us older fans to enjoy. It has the best pacing of the trilogy and the battles are very good eye candy. Funny enough i was in the waiting area and a father came out of a showing of mufasa, he was like that movie is awful haha.

Jim Carrey said he was retiring after Sonic 2 unless he was handed a "banger script." Needless to say, he followed through on his promise. Something, Disney has proven incapable of doing.

If Mufasa had been animated in the originals 2D style… it may have actually stood a chance. I honestly think the live action animation killed any hope of it making any impact. Weather it was a good movie or not. Plus, just like iron man and speed racer, they released it at the worst possible time because a much more anticipated movie was coming out at the same time. (Also I love that your sponsor was WinX DVD ripper! I have it and use it all the time! Have been for years!)

I went to see Sonic 3 the first day it was showing and at the first showing as well. Loved every second of it, even my brother, who isn't a Sonic fan like me, ended up enjoying the movie more than he thought he would. I even brought out our sisters as an early birthday present to one of them, and she loved it while the other enjoyed it as well.
