Remember when a television program, be it a comedy or drama, had to EARN the right to be renewed for another season instead of greenlighting a show for multiple seasons sight unseen, sometimes for hundreds of millions of dollars? This is what happens when studios, willing to hop onto the risky streaming service trend and do away with traditional revenue streams like linear ad based television and physical home media just so they can beat Netflix instead of partnering with them like they used to.

First off, better Warner Bros than Amazon. Second, an anime LOTR always had so much potential. Granted, Studio Ghibli won't make it as Miyazaki didn't seem to enjoy the franchise. Ironically, the studio DID adapt the Rankin/Bass versions via TopCraft. there's always the people behind "Wolf Children" or even the ones behind "Beastars". Besides, Thranduil and Legolas were born to be bishonen.

I have no hope at all that this will be anything other than a complete dumpster fire. I gave up on Kurtzman Trek long ago. STD is a disease that has infested Star Trek, and like all forms of Cancer, the best way to deal with it is to cut it out completely and move on. A Section 31 show, or movie, based on the Deep Space 9 version of Section 31, would be great. Whatever the hell this thing is, that Kurtzman is pushing, is definitely not based on the real, actually good, version of Section 31, and it is going to fail spectacularly.

From the very first episode of STD, they showed us all where this was heading. Naming it "The Vulcan Hello" while telling us that the pacifist Vulcans shoot first? That was blatant disrespectful rewriting. Whether or not one liked the TOS episode The Savage Curtain with Abraham Lincoln, the interaction between Spock is Surak is something I will never forget. Surak explicitly tells of how the Vulcans brokered a peace with the Klingons.

Also the kurtzman trek apologists on KZbin I have been slamming with negative comments and they keep deleting them. Those fools can try to pretend that we’re all on board with this garbage but I checked out in 2018 when I saw how shitty discovery was. I count myself as one of the most open minded Star Trek fans ever. I got on board the Star Trek train with TOS in 1987. I thought TNG was an abomination until like 1991. I realized I really liked it and I stayed on board the trek train even through the horrible show enterprise. Enterprise was such a big opportunity that they still have not taken. I think they should have showed what happened after the Dominion war and not from this perspective that they went with. I think DS9 will be a good starting point for going forward, but I know they’re not going to do that. I predict here and now that in between five and 10 years skydance will be bankrupt and they will sell themselves to one of the big streaming platforms. Mark my words.🤬🤔

These media companies will have too many vault content to keep locked up and decide to monetize. Like Amazon may eventually decide to put somes of its 15+ year old catalog on their with Ads + Amazon ads. Disney, especially with Iger disciples on the board, will embrace this last.
