I just bought this watch while on my honeymoon to Rome. I have the blue version with the canvas strap (I ordered the bracelet too as I'm a diver and could use the extender on the clasp). I LOVE this watch. So much value for the price and it looks amazing. Great review and great watch!

I get this one in blue. Is stunning. Jumping hours, this made it a true gmt watch, plus have an outstanding dial, beautiful hands and hour indicators that looks to were maded by Nivarox. Silicon hairspring, blued screws, and the movement is nicely decorated with Geneva strips. The precision just made my jaw drop at +1.3 seconds a day! The ceramic bezel is comparable to any of the Rolexes. In short, this watch hits hard far above of it weight class. Best bargain.

I just now got this model. I’m very delighted with this watch. I rotated the bezel several times, but dust did not appear. Perhaps, this problem is limited to only your model. The GMT hand of my watch also wobbles. But I rarely rotate it, so I don’t think it’s a big problem. Guys who mind it must pay more than ten times of money to buy Omega or Rolex😜

First I like to say thanks for the video and your opinion, I purchased my Mido Ocean Star GMT Blue version on 9/18/2020 from an Authorized Dealer in Germany because when I had my picture lust for the this watch it hadn't been sold yet in the USA. I get the watch I love the watch, I find wearing the watch on Nato straps, and the watch grows in my love for the watch. I love GMT watches and I own 6 other GMT watches and this watch holds it own with my 2016 Rolex Batman and I think it near edges my 2020 Tudor BB Gmt Pepsi, so I wear the watch for approximately 7 months and not everyday I rotate with my other watches and come around April 2021. The watch has its first failure. The Hour Hand and the Date Wheel stop working. watch goes to Swatch group for repair and I don't see the watch for 3 months watch comes back straight from repair in July 2021 and the second Failure happens where the Manual Wind stop working , again watch goes back and they fix the watch. So now I am happy and the watch comes back and back into rotation and I still love the watch. Now the watch has it's forth failure and the Seconds Hand stop working and I send the watch into Swatch repair in New Jersey and they are going to fix the watch and during my conversations with the customer reps, they are telling me if I want a new watch I need to talk to the A.D. in Germany , but I tell them no I love the watch and I still want , but finally I convince them to completely replace the movement of the watch because the watch really had 4 major failures, 1. Hour hand 2. Date wheel 3. Manual wind 4. Seconds hands have all failed to work. I am still waiting the repair to finish, I am hoping to get my watch back in September or October depending on when they get the parts. I believe they are going to give me a new 2 year warranty. In my opinion I love the watch I want the watch I just want it to work correctly and use it , love it for all the reasons I purchased the watch. from other posts I heard that the first bunch of watches made sold in Asia & Europe were defective but I have no proof but I know what's happen to mine. If I were you, I want to replace the watch with the new one as their offer. It seems the watch has several critical failures. Maybe this is only one case amongst the other hundreds of good mido watches.

@@jonatansterling397 I don't disagree with your option, but the AD is in Germany and I'm in New York City. Swatch group totally rebuilt the watch, so everything is brand except the case, I also purchased it off of Chron24. They say they would help me . To be honest what can they really do. Ask the AD to look into this, I doubt they will kick the seller off the platform. Now I have the watch it's in my rotation again. I still love the watch and want it. The funny thing is I purchased for a beater watch to travel where I cannot take a Rolex And after wearing it, I can honestly say I love it as much as my Rolex GMT. Wear the it's like a sleeper it just grows on you. Anyway thanks for your opinion All the best.

Almost everything about this watch is perfect. Fantastic build quality, well-priced and good looking. The one thing that is devastatingly wrong though is the hands. The GMT hand is far too large for its function as a secondary complication. It should be much more discrete. The skeletonizing of the minute hand reduces its legibility even in broad daylight. Viewing the time in the dark is almost impossible. The huge lume section on the GMT hands obscures the applied markers, and the lume potion of the minute hand gets completely lost in front of the markers, and is outshone by the GMT lume. I bought this watch because I like Mido, they are good watches, and I needed a diver/GMT for my diving trips abroad, but I’ve found that I don’t like it much because of it’s legibility.

If I am not mistaken see in the video, there is misalignment between the marker on the ring bezel and the number markers in the watch dial. It looks the ring bezel shifted several minutes, am I right ?

Nope, it’s the GMT hand that is misaligned to the local hour hand. All else is perfectly aligned.

They are both great pieces. But Seiko doesn’t have a screw down crown and there is the misalignment issue. It is also a different style altogether. If you like it and get it you won’t regret it. Just go check it out at a store to make sure you get a good copy.

OK, for a watch at this price point, I would insist on the GMT hand being correctly aligned, and the bezel fit and gap would be a deal breaker for me. Have Mido addressed these quality issues to your satisfaction?

I haven’t sent it in to them. I plan on having a watch maker align the GMT hand once it needs a service. As for the bezel dust, I believe that’s a design flaw… sadly

you guys just go checking the Longines Zulu time gmt, which cost about three times of the money, and turn the gmt hand, then you won’t have any complaint anymore. For just $1000 I think you ask for too much!
