Thanks or sharing your thoughts. I purchased the blue version not too long ago and it is currently the favorite in my collection. It fits quite nicely on my 7.25" wrist, but I do agree, it would have been nice if it was a tad smaller. I think you're getting incredible value for the price and you're right, the U.S. market is sleeping on Mido. The quality MIDO offers is unbelievable. As a current owner of the blue version, I feel the price increase is justified as they're offering not only an additional strap, but a quick change mechanism on both the bracelet on the strap. I'm currently waiting on the new bracelet to see if it'll fit my watch. Wish me luck!

I like it, the caseback is nice. I'm a Mido fan. I know an older guy that had a Mido when he was a teenager. It was passed down to him from his uncle. Anyway, he lost it in a lake while sunbathing on the dock. Five years later, he's sunning on that same dock. He saw something shiny in the water. He went in to see what it was. It was his lost watch. It was undamaged and continued to function. I have tried to find an example of the watch he had, but he can't remember what it looks like. He tells me one thing and then it totally changes the next time we speak. I'm hoping he has a moment of clarity one of these days and we can figure out the exact model.

I would love to see this movement in the Captain Cook Over the Pole. It would also be sweet in the Tissot PRS 516. My dream would be an update to the Valjoux 7754 in a funky '70's Tissot T12 Seastar Navigator Worldtimer/Chronograph re-imagination.

Almost everything about this watch is perfect. Fantastic build quality, well-priced and good looking. The one thing that is devastatingly wrong though is the hands. The GMT hand is far too large for its function as a secondary complication. It should be much more discrete. The skeletonizing of the minute hand reduces its legibility even in broad daylight. Viewing the time in the dark is almost impossible. The huge lume section on the GMT hands obscures the applied markers, and the lume potion of the minute hand gets completely lost in front of the markers, and is outshone by the GMT lume. I bought this watch because I like Mido, they are good watches, and I needed a diver/GMT for my diving trips abroad, but I’ve found that I don’t like it much because of it’s legibility.

Great watch. I own the green special edition (It´s an corporation of Mido and a german AD named Altherr). I was suprised of the quality. The clasp of the bracelet is the real deal. You can easy adjust it on your wrist. There are more expensive watches that haven´t this function.

40 mm would sell. But I don’t understand charging the hefty premium on this one, And I also don’t understand Mido’s sub-par lume across all of their divers

The reason for the premium is this variant comes on bracelet and also includes an extra strap. Both strap and bracelet have quick change mechanism.

@@shawn1928 LOL! I personally wouldn't say that the lume is crappy! But, yes, it could def be better. For me, the lume is adequate as it was not a consideration when I decided to purchase one as I don't normally wear my watch when I sleep and am usually in well lit areas if I need to check the time. But in the light, the watch is absolutely stunning and VERY legible. In the light, the watch is absolutely stunning.

@@NeoWahNah yeah crappy is probably a bit harsh lol Mind you, I’ve been spoiled by the many micro brands that offer good lume, can you blame me :) Putting that aside, while i don’t yet own a Mido, they’re still on my radar. And like you said, this piece is stunning (same for some other ones from Mido that I’ve look at in the past). And their construction is great as well

First I like to say thanks for the video and your opinion, I purchased my Mido Ocean Star GMT Blue version on 9/18/2020 from an Authorized Dealer in Germany because when I had my picture lust for the this watch it hadn't been sold yet in the USA. I got the watch I love the watch, I find wearing the watch on Nato straps, and the watch grows in my love for the watch. I love GMT watches and I own 6 other GMT watches and this watch holds it own with my 2016 Rolex Batman and I think it near edges my 2020 Tudor BB Gmt Pepsi, so I wear the watch for approximately 7 months and not everyday I rotate with my other watches and come around April 2021. The watch has its first failure. The Hour Hand and the Date Wheel stop working. watch goes to Swatch group for repair and I don't see the watch for 3 months watch comes back straight from repair in July 2021 and the second Failure happens where the Manual Wind stop working , again watch goes back and they fix the watch. So now I am happy and the watch comes back and back into rotation and I still love the watch. Now the watch has it's forth failure and the Seconds Hand stop working and I send the watch into Swatch repair in New Jersey and they are going to fix the watch and during my conversations with the customer reps, they are telling me if I want a new watch I need to talk to the A.D. in Germany , but I tell them no I love the watch and I still want it , but finally I convince them to completely replace the movement of the watch because the watch really had 4 major failures, 1. Hour hand 2. Date wheel 3. Manual wind 4. Seconds hands have all failed to work. I am still waiting the repair to finish, I am hoping to get my watch back in September or October depending on when they get the parts. I believe they are going to give me a new 2 year warranty. In my opinion I love the watch I want the watch I just want it to work correctly and use it , love it for all the reasons I purchased the watch. from other posts I heard that the first bunch of watches made sold in Asia & Europe were defective but I have no proof but I know what's happen to mine. Thanks for letting me share my story and experiences with my watch and again thanks for your video and all the best.

I just get it today🤍(24 August 2022)! A true GMT with jumping hours, SuperLuminova, ceramic bezel, antimagnetic silicon hairspring… The watch is stunning. This watch hits hard far above than its weight class. Called the “Captain America” MIDO is creating true gems and is a brand often overlooked.

Love the colour combination, but not sure about a Diver GMT - makes this a big watch. I think I'd rather get the Monta Atlas GMT (blue) which uses similar colours, still has 150m of WR, but not having a dive bezel makes it wear much better. Thanks for sharing your thoughts as always Chris.

I own the blue version and personally LOVE this watch. I purchased it because it was a GMT with a dive bezel. You either love it or hate it! It's currently my go to watch and I prefer it over my traditional GMT's.
