3:45 - I'll be playing at Carnegie Hall... What a legendary concert that was. It's like the gold standard of violin performance.

At Midori's Carnegie Hall debut was spoiled because the microphone for the violin was off or set so low that the violin was drowned out by the piano. Look for her "Encore" CD for excellent recordings of Midori's amazing performances of these pieces.

Midori was referring to her _concert_ debut at Carnegie Hall (in 1989), whereas I think you are referring to her _recital_ debut there (in 1990). The latter is indeed the gold standard but as far as I know no recording of the former is available. (If a recording of her concert debut at Carnegie Hall does exist, I would be very grateful to anyone who can refer me to it.)

The maturity was developed so early!! There is such little difference in her playing when she was 13 vs her adult years, truly the works of a prodigal foundation

I was not used to not hearing applause after the lh pizz part lol - her second performance of this is better, but she was outstanding with both of these pieces!

Я також помітила, що є в них щось спільне! Шалена експресія, якийсь божевільний надрив, соковитість звуку! Безумовно, це має якесь наукове пояснення, можливо угорська скрипкова школа, що характеризується специфічною постановкою правої руки, коли центр тяжіння зміщується на вказівний палець, а лікоть йде трохи вбік. Мене завжди вчили, так робити погано, і смичок треба тримати великим середнім і безіменним пальцем, в той час як вказівний майже не задіяний.
