@@shadowblack1987 i would've re-stained the stock a nice ebony mix and slapped some Birchwood Casey on it, then cut the barrel down to where the damage is. Would've made a great collectable home defence gun with history but now it will be used to educate curious people for eternity to come so I suppose it isnt a tragedy.. I wouldn't call the gun worthlessness or "no value".

More people who listen & learn the less hysterical some may become& may at least see the value in having responsible gun ownership. We understand bad folks have guns knives cars and chemicals. Guns devide people but soon it may be easier to render guns useless in the wrong hands!! Love how new technology could really show peoples true colours? Smart guns for example could be the breakthrough the industry needs to prove the NRA care about the death toll. The NRA COULD return to its original purpose of educating the gun owning public or future . Will they? Hehehe They DON'T support owner-exclusive technology for guns.THEY should be pioneering this movement & that way every good guy with a gun could not have his weapon turned against him. The NRA doesnt support it. Wonder why. At least the cops could have them. Maybe one day it will know who not to shoot.

Thanks for this explanation of the inner workings and hidden mechanisms of the Model 12. I have recently noticed that I need to bump the pump forward before I can run it back to load the next round. Thanks to your video, it appears that the compression spring around the magazine tube is not doing its job to release the slide lock after a shell is fired. I will need to get in there to inspect it. Hopefully, it just needs cleaning. My Model 12 is from 1936, and I doubt that the previous, original owner ever checked this. I certainly haven't since I've owned the gun for about four years.

Larry, you are the man! I truly enjoyed this video. My favorite shot gun the model 12! They are truly the smoothest action of any pump gun I have ever owned. And after watching this video I can understand exactly how they are supposed to function. I recently purchased a 1916 20 gauge, the safety is in the fire position and will not move either direction, I sprayed it with blaster penetrating oil and let it soak for days, nothing seems to help. I can not see rust or anything obvious, in fact is very clean. Any suggestions please! Again thanks so much for the video

My model 12 / 20 ga is firing well when a shell is loaded directly into the barrel. The spent shell ejects but the receiver will not load another shell from the magazine tube. Do you know what could be wrong in the receiver ?
@codybarnhart71613 жыл бұрын
Some models have a magazine cut off switch. It is suposed to keep the shells inside the magazine tube while working the action. Kind of a option while shooting skeet that you would have to manually load a shell in the chamber. Disengage it while you where in the field and hunting and it will pull the shells into the chamber after ejecting your spent shell.
@ablemagawitch Жыл бұрын
at 4:30 you can see the shell lifter, if you do not have a magazine cut off switch/option as stated by codybarnhart7161 issue , I would suggest to see if your shell lifter is bent,or broken. That assuming nothing is stopping the shells from feeding from the magazine tube into and onto the shell lifter itself.

are they a 3 round shotgun or 6 round
@lucasenglish41268 жыл бұрын
both. I bought one a month or so ago and, like with all pump/semi auto shotguns I buy, I took off the magazine tube end cap and removed a short wooden dowel from the tube. It was about 6" long and half an inch thick and just served as a plug to prevent loading more than 2 or 3 rounds. I think it's to comply with hunting regulations or some such. so yes. they are 3 round shotguns depending on if you keep the magazine plug in the tube. and they are 6 if you it out.
