In regards to your comments at the end about being a cleaning channel, I obviously can’t speak for everybody, but I feel home improvement falls under the same umbrella and I enjoy these videos as much as watching you clean a hoarder house.

This is the "Mack" show. It comes with hoarder cleaning, helping the overwhelmed, helping those less fortunate (both cleaning and repair), a constant stream of advice, an understanding of those who are neurodivergent (raising my hand), as well as, a look into the life of a neurodivergent man with a tricky back and a penchant for seasonal colds. I am grateful to be able to watch all of your videos. I am genuinely happy that you are moving toward physical and emotional healing. I personally love and look forward to following your "Starting Over" journey. And I know one day we will see you wearing that gold plaque.

I'm an overwhelmed new mom, feeling like my home is never as clean as I would want it to be, never "presentable" enough. It's a great comfort seeing normal homes being renovated and cleaned, not just extreme cases of hoarding or pinterest worthy, picture perfect ones. I enjoy all your content immensely. Thank you and all the best to you!

Please try to remember that the house serves the people...the people don't serve the house. I grew up in a spotless, perfect magazine house, and it was soulless and unhappy. Your kids will remember whether or not they were happy... not if the windows and floors sparkled. And if your friends and relatives keep track and comment, then they aren't good folks.

I know what you mean. My dad bought our house in 1974, a three family, and worked on the entire house for years. Due to finances, he finished the other apartments first, so our apartment was a worksite for months. At the time, I was a teenager, so I hated our apartment, and was embarrassed to have friends over. Now I appreciate all the work my dad did, mostly on his own. He did everything except electrical. My dad died in 2020, and when I see you hooking up your washer/dryer, it makes me think of him. Thanks.

Obviously it's not my business what other people do with their money and if you want to support him, that's 100% your decision. But I have to be honest that a lot of the math isn't mathing here - like making KZbin his full-time job without sponsors, investing a lot of money into this hoarder home after making KZbin his full-time job and having to rely solely on the unstable income of KZbin at a time when his wife is experiencing major medical issues and they're probably accumulating debt because of it. And then he separates from his wife immediately after she has a major surgery after saying she was too sick for him to travel not even a week after they do a live together - and then he moves into a house that isn't remotely ready to be lived in while claiming they parted on good terms and were still close. He's allowed to keep what happened private but something about him accepting more donations when the last round outpouring of support was given to help support his family as a result of the medical issues his wife was facing just doesn't sit right with me. My comment isn't to demonize Mack - he wasn't actively asking for these donations just engagement with his content. I still enjoy his channel, want to see him succeed, and respect the work he does for others. But I'm personally feeling a little weird about all this and I haven't seen anyone else voice it.

Mack I'm in the same boat as you. I'm going through a separation and I too brought a house really cheap. It's what I could afford and I couldn't turn it down. I agree with you cheap houses do take work to bring it up to liveable condition. It's a year later and I'm still doing fixes. I'm almost done with the fixes. I had rugs in two rooms and the hallway. So I pulled out the rugs because the rugs were horrible and had a horrific stench.🤢 It's nice Jason is helping you out. It's helps to have someone help you out.

oh yeah! the 😊giant jar 🫙 of cheese balls! I’m not allowed 🚫 to buy that anymore, because I just eat the entire thing in one sitting, then I go right back, covered in orange 🍊 residue for more, like a cheese ball werewolf, and it upsets the vibe in the local store. So management is aware…😩 I surprise cleaned a friend’s bathroom that I was house sitting for. Maybe I shouldn’t watch so many cleaning channels 😂but they didn’t flip out, and they thanked me for taking good care of their house and animals. The difference was night and day… People like you and SB mowing give suggestible weirdos like me the courage to do something extra for our friends. Love this content on Starting Over! Life itself is messy, and painful, and lessons on priorities, self care, asking for help, and your emotional maturity, are greatly appreciated. To me, this is so much more than a cleaning channel.❤ Keep shining 🙏✅👍🏻✅🤠

I’ll bet that many of us watching are enjoying the renovation videos. I watch the cleanings to see the transformations and renovations are about transformation as well. I’m a big fan of Remi too, and just started watching Feral Tradwife on your recommendation. Love her! All the cleaning channels I watch are narrated so differently and I love that I can re-watch videos based on whose style I need for whatever frame of mind I’m in. I took your advice, Mack, and when I read one of the comments on here that bothered me, instead of replying and telling that person I didn’t think it was any of our business, I just kept scrolling. No attention for them! I hope your back gets better soon. So proud of Jason! You raised great people! ❤❤❤

Also those of us who have followed you for a while like to see and hear about your personal story - so of course we want you to see this!

I've never seen a dryer hook up in the floor before. Looks like it would make a nice lint nest for moose under the house. Here in Canada, we use lint nests for our house hippos.

Mack, fixing up one's house is a great thing to show to your audience too. many of us are in need of doing a little fixing in our homes. many of us can't physically do the work ourselves, but your education on the matter can help us know what should be done and look for the proper help in getting it done. Please take care of your back. Jason is such a great worker...a true blessing to you! Cleaning is fun to watch, but watching you do all of this is great and informative and love to hear your wise words. As someone who's been starting over for 25 years now, it is good to see you doing it well. Gives me inspiration. Thank you.

I have known that some homes do that, which is why it's so dangerous for the lint to build up. When I first moved into my rental I was a little panicked until I found that our dryer vent went straight out the side of the house and only went like 6in thru the house instead of under the floor and all the way out the other side. 😂

Home improvement definitely falls under the category or CLEANING! especially since youre getting to the root of a lot of mold problems, etc. No One should feel like crap in their own home and if theyre able to help themselves (even just that extra push to stick it out while someone else does it), you're showing them how much healthier their life can be. Youre also being incredibly responsible in letting them know how much work is actually involved that may not be filmed AND how to prepare for a job bigger than what might be expected. You're doing great. remodels are like "heavy metal" cleaning, lol.

Jason, To prevent future injuries to YOUR back spend time lightly stretching your hamstrings and bend at the knees, strengthen your legs, making your legs do the lowering work. Bending over at the waist is painful later. Bending your knees to lower yourself to the floor is good for your back. God, I know, now!

I want to thank you so much. Because of your videos, your advice, your ability to help people and talk others through the right way to help ppl, I was able to help my husband so much this week. This past Friday the temperature and weather was perfect. We moved our cars from the driveway and spent 7 hours pulling every single item from our garage. Our kids helped, too. I told him that not a single thing needed to be given away but I wanted to help him put things into categories and put them into rows along the walls to give him more floor space to work. Not only did we end up organizing everything, throwing away a lot of items we didn't need, but also giving away and even selling a few things I never thought he would ever part with. He had hard moments where he would get distracted and would lash out a bit because he was overwhelmed and often wanted to wander away and not deal with things. I let him do what he needed to do. 7 hours later I took an after picture and even tho we still own way too many things, I'm super thrilled with the progess (his especially) and the next day he thanked me and said he doesn't feel overwhelmed in there any more and feels like he can start to actually do projects he had planned ❤ I told him it's all thanks to you. So thank you for helping me understand how to help him 💓 I also got my MIL to sub to your channel ❤
