I hope they are going to come out with a new upright vacuum.

Lovely Video - classic Miele style! Sophisticated, timeless and best Performance - shame what happened to Miele in the last 10 years…seems the golden times are over…sadly

Love my S7! Same color. This was a great video they put out… glad to have gotten one new, before they discontinued it.

Thanks for posting this. I have one I got off eBay years ago as a box of parts. The seller took it apart and kept the screws and soleplate and threw all the rest of it in a box and sold it as a lot for $30 shipped. I have since bought a new soleplate and it took 3 years to find the correct screws and for someone to list them for a good price, so now I got those. I am all set to reassemble it now after I clean up the motor a little bit.

Had one of those at work… it was lovely to use, super to handle and great looking. It did suffer from a splitting hose. Otherwise, a gorgeous machine!

These were very flexible and quite powerful machines though there were some weaknesses such as their bellows and also the plastic bases wore out on the bottom with time. I do hope that Miele comes out with a redesigned upright machine that isn’t a cordless.

Well, nails are one thing, what about sewing pins and needles? I've had a couple prick through similar if not tougher hose materials in the hoses of my Rainbow vacuum. Also, 1,000 hours looks incredibly small compared to some of the American Premium vacuums from Kirby, TriStar, Electrolux (Aerus) and Rexair Rainbow. That said, they are nice looking machines and maybe a bit needlessly complex for something made to agitate and pick up dry material only. Miele doesn't source things on the open market? I think that most of the nozzles are made by Wessel-Werk, am I right? If you want to see complete OEM design and production in-house for everything on some machines, look no further that Rexair. Everything in tools, attachments and accessories are made in-house in at Rexair's manufacturing plant in Cadillac, Michigan, USA with the exception of the wands and hoses. The same goes for Kirby, as far as I know.

I have a Kirby Sentria II right now that has a safety pin shot right through the plastic case housing where the fan is and the sharp point is poking out of the side of the vacuum. I got my hand sliced by it picking it up and was like wtf????????? then I saw it. You would not believe it if you didn't see it.

@@huskyvacs If it does it on the Kirby, it'll do it on the Miele, any Miele. Sebo too. I thought the fan volute on a Kirby is aluminum, just the base of the motor case is plastic. The Bag "Em-Tor" is plastic, has been since the 80s, if I recall and at least and of course the impeller is a polymer substance and resists hard objects instead of breaking. That being said, it isn't unknown for the fan to have tacks and pins stuck in the vanes. I still don't care for the small motors used in Miele or Sebo, especially Sebo as it's marketed as a commercial brand. If I am going to have a commercial vacuum cleaner, it has to be not only made in incredibly durable materials, but should have a big fan twin, or even three stage motor in it somewhere as well, say 6-8" (15-20 cm) in diameter. I would also expect a minimum life of 3,000+ hours. Also, the motor itself should be serviceable. I am not talking brushes only, but where you can take it apart, clean the fans, replace any part in it if need be and put it back together. This can be done on some of those premium vacuums I have listed, don't know why it's hard for the EuroVac companies to comply with this. Also, like a Honda commericial engine, make it so components in the machine don't require much time to access and maintain. Rexair nailed it on the head with the Rainbow E2 two speed series, or for the very least, the E2 Black and PN12. The machine comes apart down to the components in less than five minutes. Please excuse my tangent. I just got writing.
