Cool air blows cold air by design. Warm air is the cycle which blows warm air. You need to measure the resistance of the element to figure out if it has blown and the element has two resistances. If the element has resistance then look at the relays on the rear PCB. The heating doesn't come on with the warm air cycle until the dryer changes direction. Turn the lights off and run the timed drying. Do any relays flash? They shouldn't flash. I had a similar fault with mine and tracked the issue to a rear relay which flashed.

Heater or the relay's on the PCB broken. U can check the heater with a multimeter. If heater is fine then most likely the relay's on the PCB are gone

The high temperature element is broken?

I don't want to sound negative but that heating element is done for but here's a way to do it properly unplug the element from the dryer and set it aside , use your meter and check if there is any AC current in the wiring for the heater supposedly there is one neutral and two live wires one for high on one for low each one of them should measure 220 volt AC if yes congrats your electronics are fine if no I'm sorry but I'm afraid that I can't help but anywho all of the measuring process should be done well the dryer is running so be smart and use a pair of gloves And if the heating element is really damaged and you can fix it that's no problem you can DIY one with spare parts from other dryers you just need to find something that fits inside the metal enclosure three elements specifically two connected on Siri for high and another one for low and they all share the same neutral

Hey man, im having issues with my Miele dryer. Im getting continuity between the larger element and the neutral wire. Does that mean there is a short in the heater element unit somewhere, or should i be looking at the pcb/relays? Thanks for your help in advance!

what is the symptom that you are trying to fix?

@@bootsowen originally dryer would cool down after a couple of minutes (first intermittently, now every time), on any auto cycle. The timed warm air cycle worked fine initially but now it also ends the cycle early. I can feel warm air coming out on both cycle types. The screen is blank when it finishes, so i dont think its a moisture sensor issue. Any ideas?

It sounds like it can't tell that it is getting hot within a pre defined time., so maybe a sensor, there could be loads of them in a miele. Or it isn't getting hot because one of the elements is broken or disconnected, like in this one. Maybe check out my later videos on this machine. I repaired the element by rejoining it where it had broken. Temperature sensors tend to be cheap. and depending on the type you can bypass them, (hot wire) to test if they are at fault. The element for this miele was £250 if I recall, so in the end I didn't think it right to sell it with a "repaired" element, so it went to the great tumble dryer yard in the sky. Miele are pretty good on wiring diagrams, so there may be one tucked into the machine somewhere, on paper, they used to provide one inside the front on washing machines. Or search online for a service diagram.

Heater or pcb, the carbon brushes should be fine as long as it doesnt stop with wet clothing on sensor drying

Heat has nothing to do with the carbon on timed dry cycles, all sensors for damp clothing are ignored

Oh okay never mind yeah that’s definitely the heater gone or the PCB because when it does that Constant beeping that means it’s an error code

Oh you can test the relays on the rear pcb using a 9V rectangular battery and the multimeter. Please unplug it from the mains etc.

It must be a pcb fault unless the heater is gone but it would surely show an error? Idk I think the pcb is nackered and btw later today I will upload my tumble dryer destruction for u just need to edit it a bit more
