Here are the simple steps to enter the service menu on the W1 washer in order to see how many operating hours have been accumulated. Miele W1 washers are designed for 10,000 operating hours. By periodically checking your operating hours you will get an idea of how long your washer will last.
Third, to check the hours of operation perform the following steps:
1. Turn the Washer or Dryer on with the door opened.
2. Put your finger on the start button and hold it there while shutting the door.
3. Once the door is shut push the start button three times quickly and hold it down on the third press until the start button begins SLOWLY flashing green then remove your finger.
4. You will then be in the service menu. Scroll down to Operating Hours and push ok.
5. After reading the hours push ok again and then down and select exit and push ok to return to normal operation.

Wow yes, I always tend to periodically check the operating hours of my Miele W1. Yours has made alot of hours, wow, and considering this was uploaded 2.5 years ago and how new this model is, you surely use your washing machine alot!

We area a family of 15 with 11 kids still at home (some are adults and should be out on their own, sigh). This washer has over 10k hours on it now and still going. We also have a WXI-860 with 5725 hours and a TWI-180 with 7500 hours. Dryer has had zero service calls. Have replaced a couple plinth filters, but those are considered a consumable. Get 3000-3500 hours out of them if vacuumed when needed and rinsed out periodically to get the fine lint out. The WWH-860 had several service calls. One because a Miele firmware update failed and essentially bricked it (would turn on, but did not recognize the door was closed and could not push start). This was during covid, hence the WXI-860. It took Miele 9 months to get it fixed due to lockdowns. This also meant the TwinDos stopped working due to congealed detergent. They then fixed that. Been fine since. All of this was luckily under the 5 year extended warranty so we didn't pay anything. Most of Mile's issues seem to be "software" or "firmware" issues on these newer machines. No real problems with any of them when they are in constant use.

I’ve been trying to find how to cancel a wash cycle for this model, everywhere. It’s driving me nuts, either my machine is broken or this this doesn’t cancel. Can you show me how it’s done ?

To cancel a cycle, just simply push the start button again and then it’ll ask you if you want to cancel

This model is a WWH-860 and it is simply pushing the start button again and choose cancel. On newer models it is necessary to rotate the dial to off, then rotate it back to the cycle it was on, then cancel will be presented. I am not sure what they were thinking on the newer models. It is not intuitive at all.

For W1 model WW1860 turn dial to the off position, then back to the program you started, and it will ask if you want to cancel. Press OK. WAIT. Some clicks and wurs, and finally the door release. Voilà. Fixed.

Does anyone have a manual for this menu?

You won't find one as this is not meant for consumers. If you google "Miele Technical Service Document" you may find a service manual for a similar model where most of the items are explained. The problem is Miele's firmware is somewhat universal. There may be options present that do nothing on your specific model or that have options that should NOT be set for your model (Faster spins speeds, etc.). Miele uses different parts across their models so while you might be able to enable an option, it may not work or worse it will work, but you machine may not be designed for it. Like increasing the spin speed. The struts and other parts may not be designed for the increased torque and damage could result. I posted this mainly so people can track the hours of use on their appliance to see where they are at. It can be surprising how quickly hours are accumulated, or not. So if my washer hits 10K hours in 4 years will I be upset it didn't last 20, like their marketing says? Nope, I got the 10K hours out of it that it was designed for. That said, our household has had Miele appliances for decades. All of them have lasted well past the 10K hours. Last washer was the W4840 large american only unit. It did 16K hours I believe before the drum bearings failed. It was not worth repairing at that point. These newer compact machines seen to have a better design so I hope they last as long or longer. With the size of our family we do a LOT of laundry so we need reliable machines. 9 of the kids are girls so you can imagine the amount of laundry. Boys are much happier to re-wear things that don't look visibly dirty (except underwear). We also do about 15 bath towels per day. So, there you go.

Wth 140 degrees?!

I am in the USA. This is set to display in degrees F. If this was degrees C I would be scared, lol. 140F is 60C. We do most loads on 60C unless they are dark colors. The "Normal" cycle is the EPA Energy Cycle so it rarely actually gets to 140F, even if it does it is only for a short while. If we wanted a guaranteed 60C for an extended period, we would need to use a cycle like Baby Clothes or Extra White. There is no "Cottons" cycle in the USA. They renamed it "Normal" and used that for the EPA test cycle.
