I believe the bold line at 11m on the wingspan dial is actually a reference point for when encountering Sabers, them being the MiG's main foe at the time. Additionally, I would highly suggest continuing to use correct ranging even when using the N-37. The offset isn't so terrible that you have to pull up super close and eyeball it; just be sure to slightly lead your target with the pipper and elevate it a bit to compensate for the larger and slower rounds, and Kentucky windage will help you get on target. Yes it feels weird at first not having the gunsight exactly on your target to shoot him down, but it's a lot less stressful than spraying and praying.

Beautiful. Legendary fighter jet. _'Black Tuesday'_ comes to mind (Korean War 23 Oct, 1951). And many other incidents MiG-15s were involved in (in fact successful MiG-15 attacks) in 1952-'55 in Europe (Berlin air corridor, Czechoslovakia), Russia, Bering Strait and over the Sea of Japan. Plus the first human in space, cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin, died in a MiG-15 UTI (the double seater trainer version) on 27 Mar, 1968. At a certain point during the Korean War it went so far that: The United States launched Operation Moolah, which offered to any communist pilot who defected with his MiG-15, political asylum and a reward of US$100,000 [equivalent to $764,474 in 2018]. _Franciszek Jarecki, a Polish Air Force pilot, defected from Soviet-controlled Poland in a MiG-15 on the morning of 5 March 1953, allowing Western air experts to examine the aircraft for the first time. Jarecki flew from Słupsk to the field airport at Rønne on the Danish island of Bornholm. The whole trip took him only a few minutes. There, specialists from the United States, called by Danish authorities, thoroughly checked the aircraft. According to international regulations, they returned it by ship to Poland a few weeks later. Jarecki also received a $50,000 reward for being the first to present a MiG-15 to the Americans and became a US citizen._ (Albury, Chuck. "Escape from Red Poland." St. Petersburg Times, 5 Mar, 1967) *OPERATION MOOLAH - THE PLOT TO STEAL A MIG-15* [www.psywarrior.com/Moolah.html ] *--------------------------------------------------------------------------* _"The previously classified report Guerrilla Operations 1952, published by the Headquarters, Guerrilla Division, Far East Command, Liaison Detachment, 8240th Army Unit, mentions the American desire for a MiG-15:_ *_A complete MiG-15 is one of the highest priorities established by the Air Force. The Air Force and Navy will offer support for any feasible project that will acquire a MiG-15. The MiG-15 technical orders are highly desirable. These are sometimes carried in the cockpit._* _Why did the United States need to study a MiG-15? The Soviets designed the new fighter just after WWII. It was a high-altitude interceptor able to reach almost Mach 1, maneuverable at high altitude, armed with cannons, and had the ability to stay in the air for over 1 hour. The Soviets powered it with their copy of the British Rolls-Royce jet engine that had a higher thrust than the original. Its performance was superior to that of any Western fighter. The MiG-15 totally outclassed the American P-51 Mustangs, F-80 Shooting Stars, and the F-84 Thunder jets. The Americans had to wait until December 1950 for the arrival of the swept-wing F-86 Sabre-jet. Even then the MiG-15 climbed faster, and was every bit as maneuverable._ _The name of this mysterious plot is Operation Moolah, the Korean War effort to entice a Communist pilot to fly a MiG-15 fighter to an allied airfield for a reward of $100,000."_ [en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mikoyan-Gurevich_MiG-15 ] : *_"An Operation Moolah propaganda leaflet promising a $100,000 reward to the first North Korean pilot to deliver a jet fighter to UN forces._* _Others eventually followed these examples, such as the North Korean pilot Lieutenant Kenneth H. Rowe (born No Kum-Sok) who, after landing at Kimpo Air Base on 21 September 1953, claimed to be unaware of the US$100,000 reward.This MiG-15 was minutely inspected and was test flown by several test pilots, including Chuck Yeager._ (kzbin.info/www/bejne/o2qwo5xjhteosKM ) _Yeager reported in his autobiography the MiG-15 had dangerous handling faults and claimed that during a visit to the USSR, Soviet pilots were incredulous he had dived in it, this supposedly being very hazardous."_ *Lieutenant No's aircraft is now on display at the National Museum of the United States Air Force near Dayton, Ohio:* www.nationalmuseum.af.mil/Visit/Museum-Exhibits/Fact-Sheets/Display/Article/196115/mikoyan-gurevich-mig-15bis It's surely a legend. And if it happens to you to get the opportunity to visit Dayton/Ohio, pay a visit to the National Museum of the United States Air Force and visit her too. And keep in mind, you better don't want to dive in it, it's very hazardous, they say. ;)

Hey Cap, I got a question. It's common knowledge that sinking a carrier in DCS is hard, especially if you have to fly 3rd gen planes in some scenarios. But can you nuke it? Especially, can you use toss bombing to penetrate the fleet's SAMs?
@grimreapers
@grimreapers 6 жыл бұрын
It takes 12 hits to kill it. Nukes don't hurt it.

Guys i don't understand where that bomb camera was. Help.
@MarvinCZ
@MarvinCZ 4 жыл бұрын
There isn't a "bomb camera". There is a gun camera, which you can see as a small bump on the nose of the aircraft. If you check at 6:39 during Cap's bomb run, when looking through the gunsight, you can see a red bump on the nose of the plane. You line that up with the bottom of the gunsight.
