MIG151EN - Liner replacement!

Welcome back to Doobrey's Day!
I have been having some issues with my Clarke 151EN Welder, in that it doesn't feed the wire cleanly through the gun. So, in this weeks episode we learn how to re-line the welder and replace the swan neck.
Hopefully others will find this video useful!
We will use this welding on future projects!

Hi Doobrey. Thanks for the informative video. Got same prob wi my used 135 te which I've recently bought, delivering 2 second intermittent bursts of wire. Will try the liner maintenance first to see if that sorts the problem. Thanks. Dave.

Hey David. That helped mine. Then I also had to change the roller wheel thingy (technical I know!). Works lovely now though !!

When you changed your roller (the wheel thing) when converting from flux to gas MIG did you change to type of roller from knurled V to the standard MIG V? If you are still using a knurled it could be damaging your wire which in turn damages your liner. I’m no expert, most definitely not you can trust me on that, but I know when changing wire types on mine I have to change the roller and polarity over.

I have had to take my torch apart on my 135te as the gas valve was leaking gas al the time even when the trigger was pressed, you can buy these for about £22 from weldequip but I found you can replace the little O ring inside the valve I replaced mine with a thicker O ring and has been fine ever since. At least replacing the liner was an easy enough job although yours looked ok just some of the plastic coating had rubbed away. Has it fixed the issue you was having? Anyway great video as always. Interestingly Steve, it did for a while. Then stopped again. A bit of investigation is showing that the mig wire is(was) slipping on the discs that feed it. We used a small clamp for now and its working a treat!!! :)

Interestingly not convinced. After playing with the welder there is something wrong with the wheel that holds the wire in place. Currently i have a small clamp in place doing the job and it now works perfectly.... hmmm

Why didn't you put the welder on that plenty of room bench you have, save bending to the floor
