This is by far the most underrated anime in years. Possibly of the past ten years.

It was sad that Nami Sano passed away at such a young, and only two months before the first episode aired.

Another thing what made it an enjoyable watch is the fact that the series is completed in just 13 episodes. It left me so satisfied due to its closure.

I loved the comedy. I couldn't help but burst out laughing when some of the characters cursed in English, made a Steve Job's reference or even just the way the characters react. I hope to watch Sakamoto-san soon because I really want to explore more of Sano's work.

Dude, I just finished this anime yesterday and went searching for reviews, reactions, anything. There is only episodic discussion on reddit, that's it. And Migi & Dali was the most original anime I watched since I don't remember how long. I didn't know what to expect, there weren't predictable characters and anime tropes. It was so weird, but I wanted to continue watching it. Creepy, mysterious, absurdly funny and then surprisingly touching. Anime community is overlooking a gem once again...

Stuff like this is why I loathe the seasonal anime system as much as I do. The popular and overhyped stuff will pretty much get dickrided or hated on to hell and back while the underrated stuff will get overlooked then again, this could be a good thing since well Twitter taught me that stuff being obscure is a very good thing. The anime community on Twitter from what I have seen can be worse than what the community usually brings. I'll look into this show and it'll probably be the next series I watch, I recently watched MF Ghost and found it to be pretty average but if you are calling this a masterpiece then I might look into it, plus it's 13 episodes and has a definitive conclusion so I can get it done within a week. Trying to see how many 12-13 episode anime I can get done weekly, I have been doing this 2021ish.

When browsing seasonal anime, Migi & Dali caught my eye, but it was pretty low on my priority list. You've definitely convinced me to watch it now though. Recent new anime has mostly been a miss for me, so I'm eager to try something different, thanks for the rec

I think this is one of those shows where people could get turned away early on if they think it's too weird or random or just another Sakamoto(Not that I think Sakamoto is bad it's just not everyone's brand of comedy). It wasn't until I got closer and closer to the end of the show that I realized how brilliantly written and put together this show actually was and wasn't just another comedy that I felt like I was in the twilight zone when I gave the show a 9 and it was in the high 6s or low 7s on MAL at the time and hardly anyone was talking about it.

Normally, I don't care for whodunnit animes but I'll admit Migi and Dali is the best one I've seen as of late, next to Moriarty the Patriot. It's probably the first anime I've seen to remember that brevity is the soul of wit and for that fact alone, I would say it deserves an entire prize.

It is so weird and disturbing but it's surprisingly so good. 😂 I really liked how the conflict between the two was created and paced. It kept me hooked and the ending did not disappoint

Aww man I had no idea it's the same mangaka as Sakamoto! 😟 I would've watched it weekly! And it's no wonder it was overlooked if the first ep was like that, when you think about how seasonals are processed by our community these days. Unless it kicks off or ramps in a particular way like Odd Taxi it's going to get lost in the shuffle.

Hey Bob. I picked up A Wind Named Amnesia on Bluray recently after watching your video on it a year or so ago. I'm excited to watch it soon. Regarding, Migi & Dali, I saw a clip of them changing places at the kitchen table, and it looks like a really fun show. I'll definitely check it out.

Really enjoyed this review and I have the same thoughts! At first, I didn't think it was going to be anything of note but literally, the first episode sucked me in. Each episode afterward made me want to see more. Initially, I was like "No way can this be done in 13 episodes!" but they proved me wrong. It was a very satisfying ending and I hope it is just a late bloomer and picks up traction because it deserves all the hype and more. Truthfully, if I had done a 2023 year in review, it would've been in my top 2 shows of last year. Mostly, I love it because it made me feel emotional and I was engaged! There's very few shows that do that to me if I'm being 100% honest. Like, I will watch and complete shows and it'll be like "Yeah, okay, I enjoyed that" but then there's some that are like "I'm emotionally attached to these characters now and It's gonna hurt when it doesn't end in rainbows and sunshine" lol. Anyway, all that to say great review!

What was the other anime in your top 2? I’m really behind on 2023 shows. Yea there are so few anime that can have this effect on me too, especially one with so many elements that usually don’t work together. It’s not a comedy, but Kaiba is another anime that’s emotionally engaging that’s also very unique. Check the opening when you get a chance
@CoreReviews8 ай бұрын
I actually have Kaiba on my watch list so I will definitely give it a watch! its really a toss up for me between Revenger and Pluto. Both of them seemed to really grab my attention in a way I didn't think they would. Im also really behind as well. I spent most of last year watching older shows haha. @@bobsamurai
