I have just one thing to say….im not a coffee drinker but I used coffee at a time to give me a pep on the job. I stopped at speedway every morning but it soon caught up to me. I began to have back to back auras throughout the day…I didn’t know why in the hell was this happening. I would usually have 2 to 4 auras a month. I then asked myself what am I doing differently and then it occurred to me is it the coffee from speedway and yep it was. If you’re a coffee drinker I’m crying out…GET RID OF IT…I never cared about the swamp water and it could never be an addiction for me but for those who get aura…that coffee is BIG trouble…It made me a true believer to stay away from it but like I said I just stopped no problem. Now I’m back to 2 to 4 times a month…sometimes I have a very very slight headache but for the most part no headaches since my mid to late 30s…I don’t believe the aura will ever stop in this life but I will keep trying to find different techniques to somehow stop them…good luck to all of my aura and migraines brothers and sisters..I just wish the ALL(GOD) would fix us all with just one touch would be the greatest gift of all.

How you doing with the auras now? Have they stopped. You really think it was the coffee?

My ocular migraines are triggered by anxiety and high blood pressure. If I keep both under control I don’t get migraine headaches. Removing sugar from my diet has lowered my blood pressure to a beautiful average of 110/70. I believe that a healthy diet of very low carbohydrates and no processed foods is key.

I had been experiencing atmospheric pressure migraines with auras that accompany with, and other variances that are associated with migraines. I noticed other significant changes and the affects that made me realize that there was a connection neuron sensitivity along with inflammation flare ups. I later found that I was suffering from magnesium deficiency. after going through therapy of bringing up the level of magnesium and maintaining through supplementation, the migraines have minimized to pretty much ended

I found this very validating as someone whose symptoms typically gradually spread in the exact order the doctor described; I wasn't aware that was the order of the brain regions where the waves go.

Thanks for explaining this. I just had a horrible aura for 90 minutes, what turned into headache. Started with the visual weird “ flashing lights” and couldnt’s see properly , then couldn’t found the words and couldn’t talk. It was actually super scary, I haven’t experienced this since I stopped birth control 8 years ago. It must be something hormonal as I m supposed to get my period tomorrow. I hope it will never happen again.

Great video! I've been getting these regularly for over 30 yrs...blurry vision, followed by a blind spot, followed by the zig-zag flashing lights, and a couple of hrs later, the headache, which can last several hrs, followed by a sick head feeling. Sometimes I get 2 or 3 a day, one side, then the other side. Oh well, I'm used to them and that's just the way it goes. 😁

CELERY JUICE 3-5 times saved me from the aura.I have not had it since! Preferably organic celery. I used to get aura attacks weekly, and after I discovered celery juice Im 100 % fine. If too many days passes between my juices I may start to get pre warnings, I then drink a full glass and it goes right away! It does not always help against migraine, but the aura is gone thank God!

I have suffered from migraines for years. My auras r usually just blins of color (no blind spots, i can see details of everything through the blobs of color), and i can smell a scent like i might get a sudden whif of like bleach or rubbing alcohol. I also suffer from vertigo and vasovagal though. But the virtigo started immediately after a ride i went on at the fair that messed up my equilibrium. However recently I fell (did not hit my head but got whiplash) down anset of stairs (no broken bones just some bruising). And since then the muscles on the bcak of my neck/base of skull keeps spasming and setting off migraines, combine with the fact that i also got a (found during ct and confirmed by mri scans after fall) right side vertebral artery dissection with hematoma with severe stenosis of the artery that they said could also be setting off migraines. My migraines have become much worse after the fall. Prior to the fall i never got growing blind spots with my auras, but now since the fall just within the this past week (fall was very recent) i have had three episodes of migraine auras with growing blind spots. The first one started out as a blurry spot in the right corner of my visual field and started to grow. As it grew it was blurred out/disappearing vision where half of people's faces disappeared, when i looked at a shelf half ghe shelf was gone, etc... whole right and lower section of my visual field was gone, and the bottom part was pulsating and there was a rainblow glow around everything that i could see. I only saw this out of my right eye (yes did that test). And the episode lasted about 2 1/2-3 hours. A few days later (last night actually) i had two of those episodes happen at bed time. The furst one lasted about 20 mins, ssecond happened an hour later and lasted 15 mins. This time it started out with a grey blind spot in the middle of my vision with black and white moving shapes within the blind spot. As it grew it turned into an oval ring where i can see the middle section but the ring section was blurred out and had rainbow and black and white zigzags that were wiggling before streching out all the way to the sides of my visual field before then disappearing. This time i was able to see it out of both of my eyes. Now at the time these two happened last night the muscle in the back of my neck/base of skull was actively spasming and very painful.

Ii had my first aura after 5 months of a mild headache although that was more like a pressure in the brain. It was triggered by going into flight/fight response to something emotionally triggering on TV, I have CPTSD . Woke up with a normal type headache next morning. CT scan, bloods, glucose levels, blood pressure all normal. I heard B2 400mg helps.

There is a link between heart problems and the painless type of migraine aura - 50% of people with a condition known as "patent foramen ovale", a congenital leakage between heart chambers, have auras. Have a cholesterol check and a heart check-up, the auras might be a warning of something else.

Odd smells, before and after. Cordination problems. Speech problems. Confusion. Nausea. Dizziness. Sensitivity to lights. Sensitivity to sound. Sensitivity to smells. Tingling sensations, head, body or all over. Pain, excruciating pain. Hunger, starvation and/or feeling full. The list is seemingly endless to the side effects to migraine aura.

got mine 2 weeks ago, seen a random fucking thing doing weird shit in my left eye, 10 mins later it went away but after that i got a headache. this is the first time i have ever experienced this, my sister is 42 and she has been getting these for nearly 20 years, back to me. I got this and literally for 2 weeks i suffered the aftermath ie not feeling right, nausea and loads of random shit. 2 weeks on my stomach still isn;t fully right and my head is about 97 percent back to normal. no i didnt go the doctors because i am not the type to do such a thing especiallly given the fact my sister has been having such issues for 20 years. my post is for those that have recently experienced something like what i have mentioned and have experienced bad postdrome or side effects. please do not fear, your body is very unique and every one differs.

Made me giggle mate :) and you sound like the type of person that i can tell you to do this next time it happens, sounds odd, but it does work to some degree,...Positive thinking!..because i'm a hardnut, i don't kneel to this ailment, sit in a dark room, no, i turn the lights on bright as they can go, sensitive to sound, throw the headphones on and turn it up, FIGHT through it, tell this thing that you are stronger, keep repeating it to yourself.... After 40 years of suffering from this i no longer have unsufferable pain or confusion, nausea and such, my episodes last just MINUTES and its gone (if the pain is REALLY bad then take a Iboropen). It's genetic fault, it runs in some familys, my mother had it and her gran mother had it and i have it, it's here to stay, no cure, so adjust yourself to beat it down when it happens.

At first I was getting the worst migraines of my life. I was sensitive to sunlight. I could not sleep. Would wake up every hour with pain in my head. Taking BC powder helped. They lasted for about 2 weeks and stopped. Then my right upper side of my abdomen started tightening and as that is doing that, my head starts tingling and it goes down my neck to my arms and hands. I do feel weakness in my hands. Still happening and now I constantly smell cigarette smoke. I don’t smoke nor am I around anyone that does. 😢

I suffer from normal migraines but in 2022 suffered from what was diagnosed as ocular migraines. What is the difference between a retinal migraine or ocular migraine, or are they the same thing? Also, what is happening with a retinal migraine vs a brain migraine? Is it a sign you will lose your vision? Terrifying because I am also deaf.
