Everyone wants to have a better life, but it’s important to follow the proper procedure. This is not fair for someone like me and the rest of the immigrants who came here legally and started from zero. I grew up without my parents and waited 19 years before finally receiving my visa. There were numerous steps involved-interviews, endless paperwork, medical exams to ensure I wasn’t carrying any diseases, and fees for my application. Once I arrived, I waited another 5 years before I could apply for citizenship. The bottom line is: RESPECT the law and follow the process of this country.

So in certain sectors, practically all workers are illegal immigrants.they work for 7-9 dollars/hr,they do pay taxes(in 2022: 96 billion dollar) but they cant benefit from it,since they are illegal.what happends if they all got deported? either you get a shortage of many products OR someone else does their jobs but for much more money,so the prices will skyrocket.

Exactly. I used to feel very safe in NYC until about 4 years ago. I haven't been back since and have no plans to do so until this whole mess of illegal immigrants gets sorted out.
