Great video. It is very interesting to see people's techniques on air layering everyone has slight variations.

Thanks for watching and your feed back. With all the variations it works, I have another video planned for next year as it's too cold to do air layering.

Great work and great explanation. I have a question though: if we remove all the bark up to the wood to do a air-layer, what's the advantage of doing an air-layer compared to simply cutting the branch off and putting it in a vase with moss?
@mikbonsai2 ай бұрын
Very thing branches may take root in sphagnum moss, I have to say I have not tried it, now that you have mentioned it will try it next summer and video it. I am not too sure that this method will work with such thick branches. Have you tried the sphagnum moss to root thick branches ? either way do let me know, I am interested to know and learn as its something I have not done. Great question, thanks you.

Thanks for watching and encouraginh feed back. No I don't keep any birds. We do have loads of free Green Parrots flying arround in large a large flock. It is these Green Parrots who make all that noise. These Green Parrots are natives of India. There are two stories which have been doing the rounds for over thirty years: (1) these parrots escaped from pet shop all those years ago and adapted to the UK weaither. (2) They escaped form a film set. No one knows how these Indian Green Parrots ended up in the UK and they have multiplied over the year. There you go now you also know but not any wiser than the rest of us.

Does the moss not need to be moist before securing?
@mikbonsai2 ай бұрын
I am using sphagnum moss which is already moist. Thank you for watching and your comment.
