Love Mike B. He told the story that became the basis of Sleepwalk with Me on an episode of This American Life many years ago and it's great to hear him tell it to Seth again with the same beats!

Jackals, did you notice Seth says “Wonderful to be here” at 0:46. It’s heartwarming that even years after doing the show he thinks it’s wonderful to be there, and inform his guests of that randomly. Either that or he’s implying it should feel wonderful for Mike to be there on his show, which is more likely.

You know when another comedian gets roasted for making up jokes the best counter is "Got a Discount on a Motel Room by Sleepwalking Out of a Window". Comedy doesn't die.

So funny as I go to the Y pool every morning. I recall a crabby older employee asking me, "DID YOU SHOWER!?" as I drip on the floor soaking wet before getting in the pool. Oh man, there must be some shower skippers. Can you imagine the chemical level and all that pee!😅😛

I love how the majority of this interview was a tale of the absurdly trying-too-hard milking of and buildup to a single capstone joke whose punchline the video title already gave away with no fanfare whatsoever. Really fits the Birbiglia vibe!

This hotel sleepwalking story is such bullshit - check out the book Many Laughs for Many Days by Irwin Cobb, copyright 1925. Page 33. The joke is called "The Return of the Absentee," which is, you guessed it, a guy falling out of a hotel window.
