@dustin jones this asking for advice that tells me you are probably already doing it. You don't have to harness them all the time man, sometimes you've got to let it out, there is never any shame in that. I wish you the best man, god bless.

dustin jones I went through almost the same situation. Sounds like you’re the glue holding it all together. Just be kind to everyone including your brother, & when look back on this one day, you won’t have any regrets. Do something positive for yourself everyday. Exercise helps so much with depression. I’m praying for you & your family. 🙏

Holy crap! Yesterday I tuned in to Apache Helicopter Pilot Emily's unnerving panoply of her life...I'm thinking how is the particular podcast topped? How can anyone else match the nerve core of her story? Bang! Mike Glover's enthralling friggin' brutal recollections of time in Afghanistan and Iraq, and in particular his telling of the saga of Vinnie...and the American flag covering the dead Mal's body...Man, oh man...Rudyard Kipling's, The Power of the Dog, first stanza goes like...'There is sorrow enough in the natural way from men and women to fill our day; And when we are certain of sorrow in store, why do always arrange for more? Brothers and Sisters, I bid you aware of giving your heart to a dog to tear.'...so, thank you Mr. Ritland for keeping the genuine pressure on... in this monster podcat.

Lord Jello Cheeks I saw your comment on Shawn Ryan’s podcast with Mike about that topic too lol. Do you know if he had a choice to continue on to OTC?
@GarrettH-rl7ml4 жыл бұрын
Lord Jello Cheeks Incorrect. He was, in fact, a member of the unit. If you’ve seen pictures of him in his uniform he even has pictures of The Unit patch on his arm. He mentioned going to selection as well.
@GarrettH-rl7ml4 жыл бұрын
Lord Jello Cheeks The reason he emphasizes being a Green Beret is because The Unit doesn’t officially exist. He’s most supposed to go around and talk about it. Furthermore , most of his career he was a Green Beret and that’s where his roots are. Guys in The Unit revert back to where they came from when they decide to leave.
@GarrettH-rl7ml4 жыл бұрын
Lord Jello Cheeks Incorrect. He did in fact go through the entire selection as he said it. I can link you to the podcast. No one goes to The Unit selection just to pass it and move on. The Unit DOES have an insignia. It’s a black dagger with a red background, which, Mike Glover has worn on his uniform. I’m aware of who those guys are by the way. I didn’t say it was a crime to mention being apart of that unit but notice how they don’t brag or go into much details about it? en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Delta_Force

The Kids Nice You actually are as stupid as I thought. Those “time stamps” doesn’t mean jack shit you clown, I referenced time stamping in the context of when where they are both active in the military you dipshit. I’m still waiting for your “proof” that he is referring to David. I’ll wait, Oh and please also tell me how your then able to judge his lack of “team” player characteristics enough for you to think you have done better to make a smart ass comment? I’ll also love to hear this reply. However, don’t reply if your going to ridicule him and pick apart interviews to suit your narrative. Guide me to a press release, a referral of someone who says your the team player that is better than David...I’ll wait, Then also tell me why there is a fucking platoon sized former SEALS team who do ultra marathons and triathlons once a month to raise money for those families who lost their SEALS. Also tell me how out of a platoon size former SEAL team there are 4 who tried for the unit and failed and somehow it’s not them?.... let’s roll fuck wit, like I said I’ll pick you apart here you little grub

Agreed! We don't hear much about this aspect & these dogs don't get half the credit they deserve! More exposure on how the dogs are effected by PTSD post deployment / service is something that needs touched on! Sadly, many or most of these dogs (I assume) are unable to live normal lives afterwards & what is the contingency plan to deal with this, or is there even one?

Damn great podcast/interview. It's more of a conversation than interview. I can relate to the story of the LTC in command of SOF in Libya. This should be a lesson learned putting someone in a position because of rank instead of knowledge, skills, and abilities. Things like this are why good dudes get out of the military. So much good content on another great interview. Watching/listening to this in Sept 2020. At 2:58:00 Mike hits it right on the point. I live in a densely populated area of Southern CA where hunting and guns are not part of the culture and I took a hunter's safety course when I was about 12 years old in the 80's always owning and knowing how to handle firearms. Discipline is instilled early. Adam Carolla makes a great point that the way people are "calibrated" is why we are where we are today. I could write so much about this but this isn't the forum for it. Thank you Mike and Mike for this podcast. I'm following your channels and those on your team and right there with you.
